    Use this thread for long OOC discussions and posting bios. Give me a few moments to get everything put together.

    For thousands of years, every planet stood alone, a tiny pinprick against the vastness of space. Some embarked on wars of conquest, but the slow and clumsy ships of that time failed them. But then, on a world lost in memory, they created a way to move faster than light. Able to reach other worlds in weeks now, instead of years, they quickly blazed a path across the universe. As world after world fell, their alliance grew stronger, until every world flew the banner of the Solar Empire. For a time, there was peace. Trade flowed in the vast emptiness between worlds, and barren planets flourished with colonies. Sadly, this idyll could not last. Old conflicts reared their head, and shattered the bonds of the empire. Now every planet fights alone, hoping to forge a new Solar Empire.

    Basically, you control a planet and fight other planets for domination. As with most civ rps, the gameplay is from the perspective of various people, so your characters are very important.

    My Bio (Yours doesn't have to be this detailed, I'm just providing an extreme example.)

    Planet Name: Sluvia

    Planet Bio: Average sized and fairly cold except for an equatorial temperate zone. Small oceans, high mountains, and low temperatures combine to make most of the planet a rather barren tundra.

    Population of Planet: 7,429,000,000

    Main Species: Sluvi

    Species Description: Standing over seven feet tall on their three legs, the Sluvi are an intimidating sight. Evolving on a harsh world, they gained thick skins and durability, sometimes able to suffer a fatal blow and dispatch all of their enemies before succumbing. Their grey-green skin blends in perfectly with the lichen-covered rocks of Sluvia.

    Planetary Defenses: There are 100 space stations evenly spread around the planet, each with several squadrons of fighters, heavy plasma and missile artillery, and powerful shielding. On the ground are additional starfighter bases, and several superheavy cannons drilled deep into the crust. Drawing on the geothermal energy of the entire planet, one shot from one of these could destroy a battleship.

    Spacefleet: Destroyer-class battleships are the cornerstone of the Sluvia fleet. About a kilometer long, these sleek ships are packed to the gills with laser turrets, rocket launchers, and fighter bays. There are 500 in the main battle fleet, with 200 more outmoded models in the home defense force. Without these powerhouses, Sluvia's war fleet would be a shadow of its current self.

    Leviathan-class heavy battleships tip the scales as the largest production warship used by Sluvia. They carry 10 squadrons of fighters, twice that of a battleship, but they have roughly the same amount of lasers and rockets. Their light armament is diminished to save power for the massive plasma cannon running the length of the ship. Slow to fire and aim, they are still highly feared among Sluvia's enemies. Only 5 of these giant battleships exist, as they require a massive amount of raw materials to build.

    Vengeance-class cruisers fill the gap between battleships and fighters. Only a few hundred meters long, they bristle with light laser cannons. These weapons are useless against heavy ships, but death to starfighters. They generally form a protective cocoon around the battleships, picking off small enemy ships before they get too close.

    Fighters are made up of two types. Striker-class assault fighters are armed with light laser cannons and 4 homing missiles. They are used against enemy bombers and fighters. Slayer-class bombers have 10 missiles and several high-explosive bombs. Their weaponry is designed to penetrate thick armor. There are roughly 60,000 fighters stationed around Bunji and in the fleet.

    The final class of ship is the Inferno-class attack transport. Carrying 2 squads of marines, they use their powerful engines to zip through the battle, fire EMP missiles to disable enemy shields, then cut through the hull to discharge their troops.

    Ground Forces: Forming the backbone of Sluvia's army are the marines. Trained to serve on battleships and do double duty as foot soldiers, these are the elite. Armed with laser rifles and energy shielding, supplemented by hovertanks and light artillery, these soldiers can capture most any objective.

    Characters: Commodore Serrin Roland, commander of the fleet. High Aswan Ryak Neekles, civilian leader of Sluvia. General Lyyr Dethtoall, commander of all ground forces.

    Government Type: Oligarchial Republic

    War Position: Sluvia is fairly aggressive, and often uses preemptive strikes to gain the upper hand in a possible war.

    Superweapons: The Death Needle. A massive space station capable of firing 100-meter long missiles. These projectiles accelerate to speeds faster than any ship and can be used against ships or worlds. Used on a fleet, the colossal explosion would destroy dozens of ships. Used on a world, it would kill tens of thousands.

    Planet Name: Othala

    Planet Bio: Vast terrain covered with many structures throughout the planet. Rich in fossil fuels and the metal neutronium.

    Population of Planet: 10,357,462

    Main Species: Asgard

    Species Description: Standing 3 and a half feet tall, they are small in stature with unusually large heads, the Asgard are very intelligent. They have been able to develop some of the greatest technology of the time, but are a dying race as they have been cloning themselves for many generations, transferring the consciousness of a dying Asgard into a new body. They have been trying to perfect the process, with many unsuccessful attempts.

    Planetary Defenses: (none)

    Spacefleet: (all ships come standard with beaming technology, intergalactic hyperdrives, hologram systems, and are operated by one to ten person crews)

    Mothership - Fairly large ship that has been unaltered for many generations. Created in about 28,000 B.C., these ships have moderate firepower and have the ability to travel quickly between systems. There are 2,000 throughout several galaxies and require one person crews.

    O'neill-Class - A newer model created in 1997 A.D., these are twice the size of the Motherships, but require a great deal of more time to make. Their weaponry includes plasma and ion beams, and the ships come with cloaking technology that make them invisible to radar. There are only two in existence and require a five person crew.

    Science-Class - These are smaller than the Motherships, but do not have many defenses or weapons. They are used for research on other planets, usually beaming aboard lifeforms for study and replacing them with clones on that planet so as not to arouse suspicion. They have cloaking technology, making them invisible to radar, but no weapons. There are 543 spread throughout the galaxies with three person crews.

    Pegasus-Class - These are fairly small vessels that are used for ground assaults. They have smaller hyperdrives, which allows them to travel quickly, but have weak shields and armor, due to them being fairly out of date. There are only 300 accounted for Pegasus-Class ships, each with ten person crews, including the pilot.

    Ground Forces: The Asgard themselves are too frail to fight, but have developed six foot tall battle armor that molds to their bodies. They have small arms fire taken from their ship technology, and have a high density. Only used with those Asgard that are in Pegasus-Class ships.

    Characters: Thor, Supreme Commander of the Asgard Fleet. Freyr, Civilian oversight of Asgard High Council. Heimdall, Chief Science expert of Asgard.

    Government Type: Asgard High Council, consisting of Thor and Freyr as well as several other members. They make decisions that affect the whole of the Asgard race throughout the universe.

    War Position: The Asgard rarely make the first move, but enforce a Protected Planets Treaty (PPT) with planets they have come in contact with.

    Superweapon: Time Dilation Field Generator - These generators create a bubble in which time is slowed down or sped up, depending on the need. On the inside, it would look like time is moving normally, while years could go by on the outside, and vice versa. It is dangerous because it can not be activated by remote, only by timer.

    Default The Biscgons

    Planet Name: Eclipton 9

    Planet Bio: Small planet, largely unihabitable due to low levels of oxygen. very little plant life, very mountainous. Rich in Plasma deposits and titanium.
    Population of Planet: around 1 million

    Main Species: Drahcir
    Species Description: Around 2-3 metres tall, light in skin tone. Breathe oxygen, but due to low levels of it on Eclipton 9, are forced to wear breathing aids.
    Massive military based history and regime, their Political leader also has ultimate command of the army.

    Planetary Defenses: The main 3 citys, Eclipso, Nervans and Udina, are all protected by anti laser shields, generated from the plasma deposits.

    Spacefleet:
    Ecliptonian fighter - your average fighter, 2 small plasma cannons and a titanium encased plasma bomb.
    Bygon Cruiser - These cruisers may look out of date, but the weaponry on them is constantly upgraded, packing hundreds of plasma cannons all over the hull. these provide excellent counters against enemy fighters. Also to help against enemy cruisers it has bigger standard round firing cannons, these fire shells similar to that of human tanks.
    Udina Carrier - named after the city it was developed in, the udina carrier has the ability to carry hundreds of pilots and fighters. Also used in ground assaults, it carrys the armys infantry and vehicle devisions. Has heavy shields to make up for its lack of weaponry.
    Drahcir Mothership - The Drahcir found this ship drifting through space whilst on a pilgrimage. it was scouted and found to be empty. this ship enabled drahcir technology to jump forward millions of years earlier than it should have. After centuries of investigating it they finally got it to work, and it is now the pride of the Drahcir navy. This ship carrys the ultimate in shield penetration technology, however it only has one shot before it needs to recharge, making it vulnerable on the front line.


    Ground Forces:
    Drahcir Elite Infantry - Armed with individually modded plasma rifles, and the latest stealth suits, they are stealthy, lethal opponents. able to take out a squad on their own these troops are feared and respected.
    Drahcir standard infantry - These are your standard issue troops. Standard laser rifles, and Combat armour. However they shouldnt be underestimated, as they still bite back even when outnumbered.
    Oreoelis Tanks - armed with the Oreoelis grade titanium, the only thing these tanks are susceptible to is a grenade through the hatch. these tanks move on a ball of plasma giving them perfect manouevability.


    Characters:
    Supreme Hierach Richard - Self appointed Leader of the Drahcir people, Richard rules his people with a firm hand. He has ultimate command of the planet and his fleets. Occasionally his love for a good fight gets him into trouble, although due to his armys military prowess, often wins.
    Lisandrew - She is the Supreme space commander, takes orders only from Supreme Hierach Richard, commands all the captains of the cruisers and carriers, Commands the Drahcir Mothership. She keeps a level head and often keeps the fleet out of danger with her excellent tactical decisions.
    Sgt. Bickyz - Takes control of combat arrangements as soon as the ground troops touch down on a planet. Has a quick temper and loves being on the front line. Fights with standard infantry as he believes it to be more of a thrill.


    Government Type: Dictatorship.

    War Position: A war hungry race, the Drahcir are often known for their short negotiations and quick cannon fire.

    Superweapon: Drahcir Mothership - Her cannon can rip through an enemy ships shields, devastating their ship. if lined up correctly has a high chance of piercing more than one ship. The drawbacks to this are: it takes 10 minutes to charge the firing sequence. After firing has a cooldown of a few hours, leaving the ship defenseless.

    EDIT: toned down the biscuit theme a little ^_^

    Planet Name: Ullanor

    Planet Bio: Ullanor is plagued with overcast all the time, it is a miracle to see the sun, thus it is a cold place. The terrain is mountainous and the underground is a catacomb of tunnels.

    Population of Planet: 5,512,258

    Main Species: The Ulains

    Species Description:The Ulains are a roughly humanoid race, but are about 5 meters tall and able to lift 10 times their body mass at full growth.

    Planetary Defenses: Missle platforms hidden in mountaintops and surface lasers with the ability to destroy ships in low orbit

    Spacefleet:

    Illustrious, large ships with castle like build, multiple large weapons that can fire shells about 30 meters in diameter

    Luminous, medium size ships designed to carry smaller fighters and bombers, it has few defenses besides it's screen of small craft. What defenses it does have are laser based anti-ship cannons.

    Limited, fighter forces designed to protect capital ships from enemy projectiles and fighters

    Tridline, bomber craft designed to be manevuerable enough to get inside enemy capital ship defenses and deliver low yeild nuclear type weapons to vital points along the ships hull. Routinely piloted by those who are declared almost to insane to be in the armed forces.

    Manticore, Flagship class, Usually the leader of hunter packs of 3-5 smaller ships, they pack enough fire to destroy a large city from orbit in one salvo.

    Immense, the only faster than light travel ship in the ulian fleet, it is the size of a small moon and carries 10-15 hunter packs of ships, and the supplies needed to attend to them for an extended period of time. Usually only 3 or 4 of these out at a time because of the immense costs to employ them, there are a total of 15 in existence and they usually guard Ullanor.

    Ground Forces: The ground forces are made up of Ulains in massive units of power armor, with guns that fire mainly high explosive rounds able to punch through tank armor from the 20th century like it was paper.

    Characters: Captain Trandell, a captain of a front line Manticore. Fleet Officer Mintell, leader of a flight of fighters. Officer Loim, flight officer of a Tridline.

    Government Type: Monarchy

    War Position: Defensive

    Superweapon: Immense suicide run, due to the cost of building these ships and their small number this weapon is never implemented lightly. Should it be authorised 2 new ones are commissoned immediately. The Immense to be used is emptied of all essential crew and crashes into a planet with all of it's weapons and fuel still on board. The planet is usually burned to a cinder by the resulting explosion or broken into atoms by the sheer impact alone. Should the planet survive the hunter packs that used to be stationed on the Immense mop up the rest and wait for reinforcements from home.

    Planet Name: Raeldenar

    Planet Bio: average temperatures of the core determined to be in the high thousands (Celsius), though the surface remains at a usual 60-80 degrees (Celsius) due to highly advanced climate control. relatively mountainous, covered in oceans of highly toxic liquid. The Raelds dwell in subterranean compounds, surfacing rarely save for within their great ships. The core of the planet is extremely hot compared to others, and will occasionally engulf sections of the planet around it and shoot out sections of plasma, in the stead of molten rock, out of large holes leading straight to the core of the planet, making it dangerous to even fly near the planet. For this reason the Raelds constantly harvest asteroids to fill in gaps in their planet.

    Population of Planet: three billion organic at all times, if one dies a new is cloned, though they produce robotic workers.

    Main Species: Raelds

    Species Description:

    Planetary Defenses: A wide grid of satellites in fixed orbits and ground based cannons carrying instruments capable of super heating particles around them into plasma, capable of firing pure, superheated, plasma straight into the attackers.

    Spacefleet: (List each of the classes of ship, with a brief description, and amount of each type)

    Ground Forces: (These are of lesser importance, most fighting is spaceborne)

    Characters: (Commanders, soldiers, rulers, even citizens. Civic roleplays do often use first person)

    Government Type: A rough combination of a monarchy and a democracy, where all is organized by the monarchy, but their decisions can be altered or neglected by the normal citizens, given they provide a adequate reasoning.

    War Position: Prefer to ignore combat, though will fight when they must. they prefer to keep to themselves.

    Superweapon: Ability to produce plasma based explosives. especially effective when combined with heavy explosives, such as nuclear weaponry, when the explosion can disperse the superheated substance to, effectively, vaporize large groups of ships in seconds. But the plants which do this take a long time to cool down, so it is rare for very large weapons to be infused with plasma.

    Other: have teleporters and robots.
