    Default Attack Priorities

Ok, well I've understood that round movement goes as follows:
    1. Movement
    2. Troop attack
    3. Fortification attack

I've begun to understand the movement phase. Not all troops move at the same time, it is based on their speed.

It has also been noticed, that during the troop attack phase, target priorities can change if a layer has been killed. (Eg. 10 cavs, 10 phracts, kill 1 sword, 1 pike in 1 round)

I have 2 reports here also showing this, which I would like to discuss:

    1: heres my theory
    Attack:
Cavs move to 1500 (kill workers)
    Phracts move to 1125
    Scouts stay at 0

    Def:
Workers move forward to 1500 (die)
Archers (Or ballis)target scouts - kill them all
Ballistas (Or arch)target cavs - kill them all
pults and/or rams target phracts - kill them all

This seems weird to all occur in one round. Anyone know exactly whats happening here?

Second screenshots even more intense lol

    1. The workers held up horses long enough for the archers to slaughter them.(why layers are important for defense)
    2. Hero - wrong troops to attack with - defensive range - and probably several other things....( I'm sure someone will point out some more)

    I'm just guessing....LOL
I salute those who continue to play an honest game.

    1. the workers are killed when they move into range of the cavs, archers kill scouts, ballistae kill cavalry, catapults kill cataphracts

    2. round one (from defender's point of view): swordsmen kill cavalry, rams kill cataphracts, archers kill archers, ballistae kill catapults, catapults kill ballistae, ATs kill scouts

    2. round two: swordsmen kill pikes, archers kill swordsmen (at optimal range), ballista kill warriors, catapults kill workers, ATs kill rams.

Ok, thats about what I expected. I should have rephrased though, my main question is WHY. What determines which troop attacks first?

Individual attack power? Group attack power? Position? Something else?

    Edit:
From your post, it looks like you are giving the priority to group attack power. Does this mean 200k archers on defense would fire first on 100k attacking archers?

yes, your defending archers prioritise ranged targets by group attack power and melee targets by speed

With some help I think we're more or less worked it out. Troops have a troop id
    Workers = 2
    Warriors = 3
and so on down the list.

In each round, theres a firing order which only works to prevent overkill.
Melee units do their attack first, followed by range units. The order is based on troop id.
So, if archers kill all the scouts, ballistas will then target the next unit on the priority list, in the same round.

    Heres an example:
    http://battle128.evony.com/default.h...6c29150bb7.xml

Here, archers ONLY had enough attack to kill the pikemen. They did this first.
Ballistas then targeted the swords (next nearest units). They only had enough damage to kill pike or swords.
Pults then targeted the warriors (last remaining unit).

There are similar reports showing 5k swords, 5k archers kill 100 cavs and 100 swords in one round. Proving that melee attacks before ranged does.

    Gringo got it right :P
