    Default Achievement points

I apologise if this is already posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it!

What are Achievement points, and how do I make use of them?

Or is it just useless frills?

It's just another way of measuring your progress in the game.

They don't really mean anything, but completing some of the achievement 'quests' does give you bonuses. Rather nice ones in fact...I don't play Age II anymore but I remember some of the achievement bonuses were 10% reduction in troop/mech training costs.

Well, it's not useless. I wish I could lower the training costs of my troops in Age I.

Far from useless. The buffs are really useful.

The best of all - in my view - is the buff which adds 2% then 4% then 6% etc to drop rate. For that one you must colonise cities (which means win colonisation battles not suppress cities).

You will get Mike's scripts, ancient weapon and even gear materials as well as more medals for faster promotion and more cities (if you want them).

Most of the other buffs are useful too.

Some of the achievement quests provide you with moderately useful boosts, such as percentage increases to your resource production, increase (percentage) to the "treasure" drop rate (which likely doesn't work), construction cost decreases, and so forth.
