What about heartgold/soulsilver? And what was wrong with crystal? To me it was gold/silver but with some extra stuff. My favourite was crystal by far before heartgold and soulsilver, just for the double region...

Most of the games I like had already been mentioned, so I'll just keep it short with this one:
    NFS 1994

For a DOS game at that time, it was the best simulated racing game I've ever played. The most recent ones had declined in quality [imho] ... so I tracked an old copy of it to give it one [or more] more run. Looked tiny and LQ on the widescreen, but its gameplay hadn't lost its luster.

Btw, I think the guy above me (lukewatson1) is a spammer/advertiser. Either you throw him out of the establishment, or strip him of his hyperlinks.

Guys, Kirby's Dreamland. I played that game almost everyday where I was younger.

Texas, desperately wishing I was in Michigan

    My favorites have always been...

    1) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
I played through it 7 times, which is amazing for me as I often will play a game so much so fast that I burn out and quit halfway through. This game is the classic with staying power.

    2) Quest for Glory series by Sierra
I wish all games had the same humor as these... it was fun to kill yourself off in different ways just to see what it said. Excellent storytelling.

    3) Daggerfall, the first Elder Scrolls game
I'm not even sure what made me addicted to that game way back when... probably the thieving and killing and the building the character for more thieving and killing.

    4) Carmageddon
    Because senseless violence is fun.

    5) Thief: The Dark Project
Because avoiding senseless violence can be fun too. Though, I have to say, the chicken- in me was always scared as crap when zombies were around.
