"It seems I've got too many friends. I usually prefer being left alone with very familiar company. Half the time a servant disturbs me during certain hours of the day, they end up being dismissed to another part of my house." It was true. Adrian rarely bothered to make friends, much less let people get too close to him.

As he went over to answer the door, he still didn't fail to cast a side glance Sabuit's way. "However, the obsidian is a good idea for decor here. I know of several places in here that definitely need such a thing."

Irritated, he opened the door to see Rak, and said nothing at all upon seeing him.

"Adrian, I wanted to thank you, for coming to my aid in the forest today. I don't know what would have happened to me, Zad, or the other elves that were being held by the slavers. I am forever in your debt." Rak said.

"You're welcome, but you should go see your brother and make sure he is doing well. Making sure he's alive right now is more important than thanking me for it. Besides, thank the Drow noble who saved you, as she did most of the work anyway." Adrian's gazed then intensified.

"Usually I'm accustomed to being left relatively alone during these hours of the day, to allow myself some privacy. If you'd like to assist Cato in his duties helping the freed prisoners, it'll be good seeing as he'll appreciate it." Adrian then waited for Rak to leave, mostly out of protocol.

In spite of his irritation, he wouldn't let it get entirely in his way when other matters were at hand.

"You're lenient with him. One must learn from one's mistakes, but that is not my place to judge."

Sabuit took a seat, waiting for Adrian to join her. She tried to keep herself under control, keeping her breathing and her emotions under control. She was always nervous around Adrian. It wasn't that difficult to see why, yet Sabuit remained quiet and reserved for now.

"He should, but I've learned that taking a softer approach with newer servants makes them more reliable most of the time. I prefer respect and admiration from my people rather than fear. Less messes to deal with that way." Adrian walked over to a chair near the one that Sabuit had chosen.

    "So who was that lady?"

"That was my, unusually catty actually, mother, Lady Vierinissa Shadowstrider, the vanquisher of Orcus the Demon Lord, and usually a very nice person to know. I suppose it's because she had to kill someone - it brings back awful memories of her fight with Orcus; when she came back, she was hanging on by a thread, as it were. She grows morose and irritable when she kills, but usually she is a kind woman. I heard her comment - it was a strongly-worded insult to you, I don't want to repeat it... So, then. You have some explaining to do. Why'd you leave me halfway through our conversation?"

"Ah, sure thing Adrian." Rak said, before turning to leave. Making his way out of the academy, Rak went to the stables and mounted Hero. Riding through the city, Rak saw a few of the freed elves walking in the main gate. "Cato, I'm on my way to assist you." Rak said.

"I went to go protect the half-elf from the slavers. I know that it was probably going to be doomed to failure, but I'm still honor-bound to protect my servants. Besides, if I had failed along with Cato, my father would have come along, so I've got little worry on that arena." He skipped over the part about what the insult was. If it she doesn't want to talk about it, so be it.

    --------------------------------------------------

By this time, Cato was already near the main gates, being accompanied by the freed prisoners, who were escorting the infirm over to a place of safety. "Hey, there you are. If you want to help, that elf over there is tired and needs relief. He's not eaten in three days, and is about to drop."

Cato didn't stop for anything. Instead, he was always helping them out, regardless of who or what those people were -- after all, they needed his help, and he was doing his lord a service by extending a generous hand to them.

"Yes.. Yes.. he did.. and may i remind you he should not be here." a more adult voice said, Amaron's eyes grew as what he had freight had just happened he knew it, there was a teacher at the door and he was gonna be forced to get rid of wally.
"Having pets in your room is strictly forbidden," said the Instructor, a small man wearing a small hat with a feather on it. What race he was something that was rather hard to tell, seeing how it was dark. He was taller then a dwarf, and the hat was concealing his ears and he didn't look like a mountain of meat. "You are to report to the stable right away, were you will hand over your wolf to the stable master, so that he can find a pen for it." With those words, the Instructors left the room.

Riding over to the elf that Cato mentioned, Rak dismounted and helped him to mount Hero. Leading Hero by his reins, Rak followed Cato and the other elves. "Cato, did you see my brother leave the forest, before you left?" Rak asked.
