Personally I never have farmed up to baronet, I've always coined my way there. (does not cost much)
From baron on it's relatively simple and a lot easier to farm the medals.

there is a easy way to obtain medals hit lvl 9/10 valleys your have them in no time :P

Honestly, the best way to farm, is to have all of your cities sending 8 waves at every valley around you, 25 sec. apart. That way u will have enough time to abandon, and you will get all sorts of medals
