    Character Application

    Character name: Malaika
    Race: Aasimar
    Class: Divine Aeromancer
    Level: 91
    Equipment: sword, dagger, 3 chakrams
    Description:
Background: Malaika was raised in the mountains, and as is common amongst those of her status and race began to learn the ways of the paladin at a young age. However, she was not content with the thought of leading a 'standard' life, and after a chance encounter with a Windmaker started to study the ancient tradition of airbending also. Her father was none too pleased to learn of this, as he thought to be a paladin was the noblest course one could take in life, but her mother interceded on her behalf, saying it was good that Malaika was developing independent interests and that such skills could prove most useful. Fortunately for Malaika, her father was more loathe to refuse his dear wife than he was to let her study these techniques, and as they hadn't been taking away from her paladin training he didn't have a very valid point to argue it further and so reluctantly let her continue. However, Malaika never had the same relationship with her father after this, and seeing how grieved he was at her mother's passing opted to go off and wander the world, lest her father in his sorrow lash out at her for her 'oddity'.

    Player Application

    Player name: Alaula
Player race: Helia (or so she thinks... <_<)
    Connection type: neural
    Appearance:
History: A member of the remnant race known as Helia, Alaula grew up as a wanderer living on Shadow, one of the few corvettes that escaped when their home planet imploded many years back. Originally, the Shadow crew were merchants, but by Alaula's birth they had turned more to the ways of the mercenary. She spent much of her childhood training in recon and medicine, using her spare time to study the various maps they'd acquired. This habit made Alaula the natural choice for the pilot of Shadow after her uncle died when she was 13. Noticing how quickly she learned the controls, some of the crew started teaching her hacking as well. Three years later, Shadow was destroyed while at a dock with most of the crew on board, leaving Alaula alone. Unsure what to do, she stayed where she was a few days, and that's where she met Raya. Since then, they have worked on various missions for myriad races, ranging from simple tasks for peons to complex classified assignments entrusted to experts.

    Character Application

Character name: Penthesilea (or Penthe for short, IF she knows you. And likes you. The 'likes you' is very important)
    Race: Amazon
    Class: Exotica
    Level: 87
Equipment: bow and quiver of arrows, javelin, Girdle of Hippolyta (strength enhancement)
    Description:
Background: A direct descendant of the legendary Hippolyta, and named for her ancestor's sister, Penthesilea became Queen of the Amazons after their realm of Themiscrya was overrun by Tiamat's forces in the devastating battle known amongst the remnants of the tribe as Akitawanya. Though the Amazons lost their land and most of their warriors fighting Akitawanya, they managed to recover their former Queen's body and along with it the legendary Girdle of Hippolyta, said to enhance one's strength. Once they had escaped the devastation, the remainder of the Amazons mourned their Queen and their beloved homeland, giving said Queen a proper traditional burial and anointing Penthesilea, the Queen's eldest daughter, as their new Queen. They currently seek vengeance on the forces of Tiamat, ambushing any of her raiding bands they come across.

    Player Application

    Player name: Kaida
Player race: Kedi convert to Helia
    Connection type: neural

When she isn't fighting, doing other mercenary work, or minding her children, Kaida engages in a variety of pastimes, including drawing, dancing, and playing VR games such as King's Knight (or Dragon Knight or what you be calling it these days).

    Default (Storyline Application Post)

    Character application:
    Character name:
    Race:
    Class:
    Level:
    Equipment:
    Description:
    Background:
Character Name: Praevus the Maleficent (The malevolent mage is alternatively known as Praevus the Supercilious)

The name of the enigmatic and malevolent mage is derivative of the Latin term pravus. The Latin term pravus is divided into two separate definitions. In its first definition, the term pravus refers to a crooked, distorted, misshapen, deformed, or disfigured object. In its succeeding definition, the term pravus refers to a morally wicked, sinful, perverse, or malevolent individual. The term pravus is used to depict a state of sinfulness and moral turpitude.

    Race: Chthonian Deity

Class/Rank: Abyssal Mage (Possessor of the Chaos Device)

    Level: 130

Corporeal Manifestation (Physical Form): One hundred and thirty (130)

Inner Essence (Incorporeal Nature): Imperishable, indestructible

The underlying essence of Praevus' nature is not subject to the negative effects of senescence. The malevolence of Praevus' inner essence cannot be eliminated due to his indissoluble bond with the Chaos Device.

    Equipment: Chaos Device

The Chaos Device was constructed by the artisan-like fashioner of the multitudinous cosmoi. The sovereign deity of the hypercosmic gods initiated the transition from akosmia (anarchic chaos) to an ordered cosmic hierarchy. An impenetrable sea of gaseous substances began to gather into dense clusters of highly differentiated substances. The atomic particles underwent agglomeration during the gradual amalgamation of disparate elements. The highly diverse and disorganized sea of gaseous substances was divided into the two categories of physical matter and immaterial substances. This two point division represents the two chief aspects of the hypercosmic gods: the corporeal and solidly formed manifestations of the deities' inner nature, and their underlying incorporeal nature. The hypercosmic gods dwell in the interstices between the innumerable cosmoi. The deities of the universal pantheon dwell in a state of perpetual bliss. These insouciant beings have achieved a permanent state of mental imperturbability.

The Chaos Device contains the vestigial remains of the disordered particles and impenetrable gaseous substances that had existed during the primordial stage of cosmic evolution. The possessor of the Chaos Device is not vulnerable to the bodily and mental decay that steadily affects all sentient beings of the non-celestial world. The inhabitants of the terrestrial and the subterranean passages are incapable of permanently halting the inexorable process of aging. Certain creatures have imbued themselves with a potent form of arcane magic that possesses the ability to prolong their terrestrial existence. Despite their immersion in the esoteric disciplines of Oriental mystical practices, astrology and alchemy, the inhabitants of the terrestrial world will succumb to the relentless approach of Death. The gelid touch of Death will reduce entire planets pullulating with an abundance of species to a vast network of demesnes devoid of living organisms.

    Description:

Praevus the Maleficent appears as a physical perversion of a traditional Oriental deity. The crimson red eyes, the protruding rows of teeth, the elongated claw-like fingers, the Oriental cross-legged stance, the additional pair of monstrous arms, and the mudra-esque hand gestures are the products of a morally perverse, depraved and malevolent being. Praevus' insatiable desire for perpetual and limitless powers poses a significant threat to the inhabitants of the terrestrial realm.

    Background:

Praevus the Maleficent entered the surface realm after emerging from one of the planet's gaping wounds. The chthonian deity sprang from an isolated fissure after escaping from the musty and labyrinthine corridors of the infernal realm. The grotesque monstrosities and other abominable creatures of the subterranean realm are surrounded by a tripartite set of concentric walls. Each concentric formation of fortified structures is marked by a continuous tessellating pattern of horrific beasts. The inner zone of the tripartite system of fortified walls is closely guarded by foul creatures of an immense size. When compared to the surrounding cohorts of diminutive creatures, these towering brutes assume Brobdingnagian proportions that are truly frightening. The inner demesne of Praevus the Maleficent is protected by the constant supervision of these gargantuan beasts.

After slaying the members of a demonic triumvirate, the malevolent mage acquired possession of the Chaos Device. The triumvirs of the chthonian realm represented the three negative qualities of mendacity, avarice and hubris. The Demon of Mendacity represented the effects of trickery and guile. The Demon of Mendacity had attempted to inveigle the denizens of the populous city-states and princely despotisms of the surface world into joining his demonic phalanxes. The Demon of Mendacity had endeavored to extirpate the numerous heretical sects of the surface world. The second member of the demonic triumvirate represented the corrosive effects of an immoderate indulgence in physical appetites. This gluttonous and corpulent triumvir was bloated to an excessive degree. The demon's insatiable appetite for wealth and its rapacity were viewed with repugnance and abhorrence by the terrestrial creatures. The Demon of Avarice embodied the deleterious effects of inordinate greed. The third member of the demonic triumvirate represented the intoxicating appeal of an inordinate level of pride. This hubristic demon had once possessed the enviable distinction of the Standard-Bearer of the Chaos Device. The brethren of the Demon of Pride were relegated to an inferior position in the unholy triumvirate.

    Character Application Number Five:

Character name: Kyrranwyn My'athar, Archmage of Blacksmoke

    Race: Noble Drow Elf

    Class: Archmage/Sorcerer

    Level: 130

    Equipment:
Staff (Vengeance): Kyrranwyn's staff is both a focus of her magical power and also a symbol of her status as Archmage of Blacksmoke. The college of magical arts within the city (which functions as one of two magical colleges in Silverwater) is, of course, led by an Archmage, and Kyrranwyn was appointed to that position upon the death of the previous Archmage, an elf named Tymolir. It is rumoured Kyrranwyn assassinated him to attain the position - she had been seeking the post for years - this was further compounded by her manufacture of a new staff for herself instead of taking the staff that was ceremonially handed over from Archmage to Archmage. Vengeance, as she called it, is a potent focus for Kyrranwyn's magical prowess and also a result of the very same magic - the wielder of the staff has the ability to cast Heal upon the user 5 times a day, and there are a number of offensive spells that can be cast from the staff's repertoire.

    Description:

Background: Kyrranwyn is the fifth child of Lynessa My'athar, herself fourth child of Matron Mother Irroyes My'athar. Kyrranwyn is 187 at this point in time, but the last 187 years have certainly been tumultuous to say the least. Kyrranwyn took part in the defence of Blacksmoke from the hordes of Abyssal demons unleashed by the demon lords 50 years ago, and swore revenge upon those who attacked her city. Kyrranwyn is a woman who keeps her word when it comes to those manner of things - she will have her revenge upon Lolth, upon Orcus and upon Baphomet. She originally began to worship Lolth at the age of 90, but she found the practices of Lolthite religion unbearable - she left the clergy 20 years later (as a high priestess, nevertheless) and then spent the next 20 evading assassins sent to kill her! She was assaulted in her own bedchamber by one particularly insightful assassin - but Kyrranwyn was able to kill the assassin with a well-placed Isaac's Greater Missile Storm, sending the man flying out of her window to plummet to his death 30 metres below. Kyrranwyn was said to have allowed herself a rare smile at this little escapade. She now officially worships Eilistraee, having repented for her crimes with 15 years of ordeals, purgations and trials. One would have expected Kyrranwyn to come out of this period a broken, shattered wreck, but one who assumes this doesn't know Kyrranwyn. She harbours a deep desire for power - she wants to eventually rise to be amongst the deities, or at the very least be a demigod. Kyrranwyn herself is a dangerous woman to anger, but if you're in her good books, then you're safe. Kyrranwyn is, like most Drow, racist towards those not of her kind, but unlike most of her fellow race, she keeps it quiet.
