Very good guide, well explained. Will recommend
+rep
If you need any reports tested i'm happy to throw some troops around.
That would be brilliant, I got most of my reports 5 or so months ago and I dont have any account to use for testing.
Please add me on skype:
xogilly
Also, if anyone has any reccomendations that they would like to see me add to the guide feel free to let me know, i'm open to anything.
UPDATES: Will be changing the tables to be suited for google doc format (looks fine on word) and will be erasing split damage skype convo and putting it into basic format for people to understand how it went.
Again, if you have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me![]()

About time you've got this up and ready for people to begin understanding how the mechanics work. Hopefully there'll be far less generic and wasteful waves thrown around servers!
I will however take an actual look at it at some stage.
Oh and remove the random conversation in the guide... That Steve person seems like a knob...
Aight keep it up mang!![]()
Shurruuup steve!! :'(
Don't worry, already removed it and replaced it in a nutshell, a few people have already asked that :P
and thanks for feedback!!
MORE Feedback people, I can't improve it without anyone telling me what they like/dislike??

Yeah man! About 90% of this guide is screen shot evidence, but I haven't played evony for 7 months so I havn't got any accounts to do any tests with :/
Thankfully I do have some good mates that are volunteering to do some tests, they will be mentioned!
MORE FEED BACK PLEASE
Would like to improve my guide even MORE!!![]()

i cant seem to get past the first section.
the understanding here is that the battles are taking place in a city.
you do not detail what level walls are at and what level of archery is.
both being maxed provides
50% for arc 10
49.5-50% for walls level 10. (disputed as taken from other guides)
u specify base ranges but do not add in for the walls or archery.
yes archers have a base range of 1200, u add the given 200 base field bonus, but do not add in the other bonuses, wich increase range of the archer.
maxed techs and walls make archers range 2600 (2400 +200)
all other ranged troops(and towers) get this range bonus.
wich voids ur guide right off the bat.
sometimes its hard to follow your words as range is thrown around alot when sometimes field size would be appropriate.
i understand u want to help teach the newbies and relate on a newby level with them.
but deliver the right facts please.
its far from complete but i admire ur desire, and the time u have taken into this.
some tweaks here and there and u will be set.
cheers mate

I already had this range argument with jonsnow from visa 8 months ago and proved him wrong the next day as I went out of my way to do tests. If your saying that a range of a battlefield is all of the techs and bonuses added, (Jonsnows claim) Then that means having archers as a range setter would be 2600.
I thought screen shots would be enough, jeez, some people can be really ignorant. How can a cavalry unit (1500 speed movement) reach the other side where there are nothing but archers? I know!! because what I say in my guide is correct. -_-
Thanks for pointing out that range bonus as 4.5% from walls, as I said, I haven't read any other guide, so I didn't know that minor detail.
CLEARLY this is for pvp and guess what! It doesnt matter whether the battle takes place in the valley or not, it still takes the same rules into account. No walls in valley? short defence (1400,1500,1600,1700) catapults in it (1700 defence) no catapults but there are lista (1600), etc you get the idea. Please look at the screen shots, you're the only person who doesn't understand it either, everyone else that has pm'd me, messaged me ingame, gone out of their way to email me have actually done their own tests and say that it's successful and appreciate my work.
SO to wrap things up, this basically makes your comment void, "i understand u want to help teach the newbies and relate on a newby level with them", glad I could help you. I admire your desire and the time you have taken to do no testing and trash talk other peoples work with no evidence, but, deliver the facts right please.
Cheers, mate.

for the longest time i have been under the (false) understanding that
if no wall def at all were present that size was determined by this formula as follows
200(starting size) + 1200 ( archer range) + 540 ( level 10 walls) + 600 ( level 10 archery)= 2,540
hence archery research and wall level determined final field size.
in the past reading guides i always assumed that it did.
im quite astounded tbh. i should have known better.
i humbly stand before everyone and to you gilgad and admit i was wrong.
now to get personal.
i think u might have taken a snippet of my words out of context,
and thought i was calling you a newby.
i wasnt, i envisioned a time back when our ac's were the same and u having the desire to help new players that are coming into evony, hence the qoute
i understand u want to help teach the newbies and relate on a newby level with them"
after all that is a goal of this is to explain mechanics in a not so formal vocabulary right?
i do admire ur effort and time spent in making this.
i was being genuine.
ive never called you a newby even when u were a noob.
i remember helping you understand some things in the past,
ironic for you to come back and classify me as a newby. lol
an oversight on my part hardly warrants the classification fellow insomniac.
if you still desire to draw the line in the sand, very well.
