I sat and watched my neighbor
My neighbor, The Poet
By my little window, did I spy
My neighbor known as That Guy
That guy, sat by his little window
Pen in mouth
Mind in thought
Lost looking out
Maybe the frost
I think he uttered
Naw, he looked away
Gazing at nothing
Seeing inside
His mind, I s'pose
Things to paper
With ink and quill
Placing the words
Just so
Yes? No?
I wonder to what write
He will
Or whom, about maybe right
Silly me, always at play
With my thoughts on display.
On morrow's paper
He did speed
The poem to which
I did read.
I sat and watched my neighbor
My neighbor, The Song Writer
By my little window, my eyes unfurl
My neighbor known as The Girl
The girl, sat by her little window
Pen in mouth
Mind in thought
Lost looking out
Maybe the frost
I think she uttered
Naw, she looked away
Gazing at nothing
Seeing inside
Her mind, I s'pose
Measures to paper
With ink and quill
Placing the note
Just so
Yes? No?
I wonder to what write
She will
Or whom, about perhaps, right?
Silly me, always at play
With my thoughts on display.
