Ive seen in a lot of guides that on new servers, medals are extremely hard to find, and it takes around 50 waves for just 1 rose medal.
I just proved it wrong.
I sent 30 waves of 500 scouts over 5 minutes, each wave 5 seconds apart, to a level 1 swamp, and these are the results:

Overall I lost about 500 scouts, but gained a ton of medals. Hoped this helped! BTW, this is on na45, and if you don't believe me, check the times on the reports

Pretty nice but personally I prefer the normal archer method...
It's good to see links for a change...

ROSE MEDAL GUIDE!
Hit lvl 1 to 3 valley with 200 archers!
Put 1 pikeman and swordsman and warrior with them!
It really works!
Got two cross medals in 5 hours attacking!

The method you're using does work, but in my opinion its super slow. My guide allows you to, instead of waiting, instantly get medals. But w/e

The Na45 drop rate is ridiculously high. not that that is a bad thing, but I'm pretty sure I could be getting medals using workers to farm valleys.

i sent 500 warriors to a lvl2 forest, 1 mile away, with all lvl2 gear and 8 star set... and i got over 15 rose medals, 13 lion medals and 20 cross medals in 200 hits! normal atk heroes, nothing else fancy. but be prepared for about 50 warriors lost every hit!
