SSF Does The Pokemon Nuzlocke Challenge.

After FINALLY beating the Trainer before Ecruteak city, whose drowsys move dreameater NEARLY killed 4 pokemon (Hypnosis followed by dreameater for the loss) i managed
to kill it with a horn attack from Horny thank god. when i walk into the pkmon center A bloke named bill talks to me for what seems like an eternity about some time machine to trade with. GOOD FOR YOU!, i aint trading, so get out my Face ho.

a quick heal and since Technically Ecruteak is a different route then route 36, i run up to the water in the north of the town for a fish and catch a poliwag which i promptly caught. (named em Wagger) then headed over to the burned tower, Its another spot where fire pokemon sometimes spawn, Hopefully i get something i can use later.


As i rock in, my rival fapper trys to battle again, Spook opens the show with a Hypnosis on his haunter, which he withdraws in favor of his Bayleef, So his now asleep bayleef, i switch to Dogalog and light that Badboy up! 3 embers and its dead, He pulls haunter out so i bring Mr Fish to the field, and bite that badboy twice to kill it, But gets Paralysed in the process, and a fair chunk of HP lost He Pulls out magnemite so i repull out Dogalog, and light him up again, He gets burnt, and dies after failing to paralise me, Ill admit, I loled. He brings out his zubat, Who promptly confuses me, but having taken 2 embers zubat is on low hp and Like a champion Dogalog hasn't hurt himself yet, And the 3rd ember kills the zubat, After Breaking out of confusion, Have i mentioned i LOVE this Growlithe? TOO bloody easy.

i Drop down to the bottom of the tower through a hole and Find a Koffing who i name Gassy. I like this team a lot now, its a solid team, But Im not sure if im ready to take on a ghost gym. The Gengar hits like a bus.

I decide to step everyone up to lvl 25, should give me a fair chance, (and maybe a few non Normal moves for my normal type pokemon)

Before i hit the gym up i left the town on the right hand side and stepped into mount Mortar in hopes of another ground type/fighting and hit the jackpot with a machop, whom i named chopchop. Might be handy later i went out the left to route 38 and ran into a magnemite, which i promptly caught and named Zap, And proceeded to
level everyone to 25.


The Team so far, With Detailed info:

Snappy - Lvl 25 - With an Attack stat of 52 and defense of 54, Its got strong hit on physical attacks, and reasonable defense from physical, but with SPATK and SPDEF at 44 and 46 respectably, Hes pretty pathetic at water gun and bite and with a speed of 40, hes pretty slow, but could be worse. HP = 75

Spook - Evolved to haunter at its current level, Lvl 25 - low attack, Low def (34) low SPDef (37), BUT with a monster 67 spAtk stat, and a huge 63 speed stat not olny is Spook fast, but He hits like a truck. HP = 63

Mr Fish - Lvl 25 - Not to be outdone by Spook, Mr fish Hits like a freight train with a HUGE 78 attack stat, and solid defense and SpDef with 53 and 62 respectively But letting the team down with Spatk with olny 42 there, speed of 55 is fine, but DAT ATTACK STAT!!! HP = 87 (MONSTER!!!)

Dogalog - Not nearly As impressive as Either Fish or spook, but A solid 49 attack stat and a Better 51 SPAtk stat gives him a nice all round hitting power, defense is fairly low with 36 def and 41 spDef, and ain't real fast with 43 speed, but he has roar, so i can force foes to use different Pokemon if so desired. Hp = 69 DUDE

Bug Life - Lvl 25 - Surprisingly easy to level for such bad stats. Speed of 50 is skiplooms high point, BUT with a combo of Poison powder, Leech seed, synthesis and tackle, Its proving to be a GREAT tank. so much healing. Stats are: Atk: 32 def: 36 SPatk: 37 SPdef: 47 thats a good tank so far, tho synthesis is starting to become redundant (Not healing enough) HP = 72

Horny - Lvl 25 - My all rounder, Nothing special anywhere, but good all round stats ATk: 45, Def: 43, SPatk: 42, SpDef: 42, speed: 44, double kick is proving to be handy VS electric and normal types. Defo a lucky catch. HP = 72

Im worried Mr Fish (my main source of firepower) will be almost useless in Ecruteak gym, since bite is the olny SPAtk move he has, while super effective against ghost and psychic types, Hes SPatk leaves some to be desired, and im worried about someone there having shadowball and one shotting Spook, which i really don't want.

So i enter the Ecruteak Gym, wary of its ghost typing and the tricky floor to navigate, And slightly worried about putting my faith in Mr Fish and Snappy bite move to get me through this gym. so i battle the first trainer to "test the water" so to speak.

He has 5 gastlys. I accidentally used Water gun on the first one instead of Bite and his First gastly put a curse on me, killing himself in the process. BUT now after every attack i was taking damage, i had to pull snappy out by the 3rd gastly due to low HP, Mr Fish took over the reigns and pimp caned the last 2 with ease.

So my damage output is good, just cant afford any mistakes.

I go back to the pokemon center and heal up to take on the rest of the gym.

2nd trainer has 2 haunters The first Haunter survived the first bite from snappy and thankfully olny used Spite on me (reducing PP of bite) - No damage taken, And this leveled Snappy up to lvl 26, The 2nd haunter copped a critical hit from the bite and this killed it in one shot, Still no damage taken, This gym may be easier then i first thought.

The next 2 trainers fell just as easily, Pushing Snappy to lvl 27, For only a little damage from the lvl 22 haunter owned by the 3rd member of the gym. I decide to heal before taking on morty, I knew he is strong.

Morty Battle

He sent out a lvl 21 Gastly, stronger then the previous gastlys id fought in the gym but still nothing special. snappy delt with it in a single bite from his powerful jaws, Thank god for the weakness to dark type moves that ghost types have. next he sent out his lvl 21 haunter - I cant one shot this one, but the bite does around 3/4ths his hp. He uses the move curse, and kills themselves, putting a curse on Snappy, This is not good. I switch out to the lower leveled Mr Fish with his awesome stats to take on Gengar.

Gengar - Lvl 25 is faster then Mr Fish and tries to put me to sleep with hypnosis, thankfully, it fails *phew* his dream eater would shred Fish's hp, we don't want that since hes my strongest hitter. Fish's bite does around 1/3rd of Gengars HP a hard hit considering high level and a strong Pokemon. This was gonna hurt.

his next hypnosis doesn't fail, and Mr Fish goes to sleep, I use bite again hoping he wakes up, but he doesn't and takes a Dreameater right to the face, For almost 1/4th his hp, a massive 20 points of damage. After a 2nd dream eater Ive gotta switch out, I cant risk losing my biggest hitter this early in the piece, so i switch out to snappy.

Gengar missed so Snappy took no entry damage, But he was still nearly on full hp He trys the hypnosis trick again but it fails and a bite drops Gengar back to nearly 50% hp. But disaster strikes when Gengars 2nd Hypnosis doesn't fail and snappy is put to sleep, BOTH my biters are now napping.

snappy takes a dream eater for a MASSIVE 40 points of HP, BUT wakes up afterwards and bites back with a critical hit KILLING Gengar! Talk about luck on my side for once,
Morty sends out Haunter (lvl 21) Who is faster then snappy and gets 2 hits off before snappy can bite him to death, Leaving poor snappy on a measly 3 hp. *phew*

On To Olivine City

Before i can head off to the city by the sea, I gotta wait for morty to shut up and finally give me a TM, Which is kinda odd when i think about it, i mean how many people to you beat the tar outta that just give you stuff when you win?

Since ill have to Get across the big blue wobbly wet thing that mermaids live in, ill need surf. So ive got to go beat all of the Eeveelutions in the dance hall so i go heal up, and head up to the hall in the middle of Ecruteak and decide ill start at the left and work my way across.

Flarion was Easy since im mostly water types at the moment, and 2 water guns from snappy took him out without taking an iota of damage. I chose buglife to fight Espion, since it has good healing abilitys + poisonpowder it doesn't hit hard, but over time does good damage, without hurting too bad. Umbreon being dark type i chose Horny to take him on since double kick would level him easy and with Hornys Good Hp stat he can take a hit or 2, Needless to say each kick took around 1/3rd of umbreons HP.

Vaporion called for grass or electric type and lacking the latter, Bug life made a return Visit, and poisonpowder/leech seed and tackled his way to victory once again, For a weakling im really impressed with him. I kept bug life out to take on Jolteon Since ive no rock types to handle electric types well, at least they didn't have 2x on bug life, And before too long Buglife was lvl 26 and All of the eeveeloutions were dead, without heading back to the Pokemon center. TOO bloody easy. i get surf from the old bloke near the door, and Head off towards Olivine.

after a few Really easy trainers and some Nice Exp for a few of my team members, we can See Olivine in the distance.

Olivine City

I head to the lighthouse anyway after getting strength HM and Healing up, and begin climbing up the tower battling trainers the whole way up. Good exp for spook, Dogalog and Bug Life, all of whom reach lvl 27 by the top, with Mr fish not far behind at 26 and Horny still on 25. Ill have to level them all up a bit before we cross the ocean. I also teach Mr fish Surf, since he has no water type moves (move set being: splash, Tackle, bite, dragonrage - Guess which move i deleted...)

Quick stat check:

MR Fish - Atk = 81, Def = 55, spatk = 43 , spDef = 64, Speed = 58 (Still the
hardest hitter under my command, many will fear the name MR Fish before im done)

Bug Life (evolved at lvl 27, now a jumpluff) - Atk = 39, Def = 49, Spatk = 46,
spdef = 62, speed = 70 (Probably the fastest Pokemon i have)

Dogalog - Atk = 53, Def = 39, SpAtk = 54, SpDef = 44, speed = 47 (Hes still not
the strongest by a longshot, but Hes growing quite strong.)

Spook - Atk = 40, Def = 36, SpAtk = 73, SpDef = 40, Speed 68 (Bug Life may be
Fast, but He doesnt hit NEARLY this hard.)

The Update youve been waiting for, Ive gotten a little carryed away with Pokemon Y, breeding mon's for competitive battling, so my Emulated self hasnt had any love for a while, Heres the next chapter (and its a big one since yall waited so long)

On To Cianwood
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I picked up the Good rod after i had a word to Jasmine up the top of the lighthouse, then since Olivane city is a different area, I went fishing in a nearby pond, and Caught a Krabby, who i named Mr Krabs, I did a little leveling in the ocean on the way to Cianwood, I accidentally killed the first tentacool i ran into so No new pokemon here

I reached Cianwood island with basically no troubles, and on the plus side, the whole team was lvl 27 when i hit the beach, except for Snappy, who was
already 28, i decided id need to go higher to take on The Cianwood fighting gym, since I knew The leaders polywrath to be Extremely strong. I started
looking at my team and wondering who was most effective VS fighting types. The prime options were spook and Horny, since they couldn't even hit spook, and horny carry's a 1/2th resistance to fighting type moves. BUT fighting types tend to have fairly good coverage moves, so spook is probably the pick.
regardless, i decide to level everyone up to 30 in the ocean next to Cianwood.


This proved to be a pain in my butt, Since The olny bloody things in the damned ocean are tentacool and tentacruel, both poison types with a fondness for poison causing moves, So i had to stay close to the pokemon center, I think Bug Life was poisoned no less then 18 times between lvl 27-30. however, she was exceedingly effective at killing tentacruels, Requiring olny the use of leech seed and 1-2 tackles to kill one, and barely ever leaving full hp.

Dogalog also had a bit of trouble, due to his fire typing, however a takedown would ohko tentacool's but at the cost of a small amount of his own HP, not a
good thing when fainting is permanent. so we resorted to biting them to death which took a good 4-5 bites per tentacool. By this point i was so sick of the moves confusion ray and acid i was nearly ready to scream.

When snappy (The final poke to go to 30) evolved at level 30 i surfed back to shore, and decided to try my luck at the gym after collecting the stuff for
jasmine.

Cianwood Gym

The first trainer, black belt yoshi sent out a hitmonlee, A VERY strong fighting type, However, He didn't carry a move in his arsenal, to actually hurt Spook,
so a night shade and a few licks and MR Hitmonlee was fainted. The 2nd trainer had Hitmonchan (How creative) hitmonchan had access to the VERY common element punches, since they are TMs in generation 2 (gold/silver/crystal) So i open with hypnosis, which promptly puts the Hitmonchan to sleep, so i go in without lube and night shade him till he faints which olny takes 3.

3rd guy has a machop, lvl 25 and a machoke lvl 25, the machop goes nappy time and feels the wroth of night shade, and after 2 attempts, machoke STILL isnt asleep, so i hit him with a confusion ray, as he is actually hitting Spook with rock slide, Hes landed it 3 times now, so Spook is on 4 hp, so i switch out
to snappy who sucks up a rock slide for a measly 14 hp (from his 100 total hp) and hits back with a water gun, leaving machoke on around 20 hp if i had to guess, its in the red. machoke still confused from spook, hits himself with whatever move he was gonna use, and kills himself. I run back to the pokemon center to heal up to take on the last gym member and the leader.

Spook marches through the last members mankey, mankey and primape team, without taking a hit, I still heal up again before taking on the gym leader, I know his team to be VERY strong.

i challenge Chuck, and he throws a rock at the statue beside himself. doesn't that git realize that has absolutely nothing to do with pokemon?

Chuck Battle

I lead with spook, he leads with a primeape, I use hypnosis first turn, which puts him out for the count, after a few night shades he takes a dirt nap even
tho he wakes after 2 turns, he cant hit me.

Chuck sends out Poliwrath, lvl 30. Thats olny 2 levels less then spook, so this will not be easy. i get the lucky hypnosis again first shot, So nap time for
mr wrath. chuck uses a full heal, so poliwrath is awake, but ive still landed a night shade which took maybe 20% hp. i use hypnosis again, and back to sleep he goes, im not taking any chances here, he takes another night shade, this one hits for a good 40% on a critical hit. with just 40% left, I should have him in 2 hits and hes gonna sleep through the whole ordeal.

Sure enough, The last night shade leaves him with a fart of hp, and a lick is enough to kill the polywrath, without taking a single hit. Spook just earned his
keep tonite. Chuck gives me TM01 dinamic punch, But i have not really got anything that can use it, at least till i get Nidoking.


I walk out of the gym, like a boss and talk to the woman out the front, who gives me fly, (Hundreds apon hundreds of playthroughs taught me where all these are btw) so i go and get hoots out of the box (hoothoot whom i caught in goldenrod's park) and teach it fly, I fly back to Olivane (not wanting to see another tentacool ever again)


I walk back up that bloody lighthouse, and Give the superpotion to jasmine, who gives it to the amphy, who then feels better. she goes back to the gym, and i head out to do a bit more leveling before the gym, with just one fire pokemon (one of steels few weakness's) i cant risk losing dogalog here. so i go and battle some pokemon above the city and push everyone to lvl 32. jasmine is about to get pimp cane'd

Bug life is becoming a surprisingly effective stall fighter, with poisonpowder, leech seed, synthesis, and tackle, he stalls out and lets the poison/seeds drain
till hes dead. Only thing he needs is a slightly better attacking move, mabey a mega drain.... would make hime an a very difficult pokemon to kill.

I got a little EV training in for my physical attackers Snappy and MrFish by fishing for krabbys and magikarps (attack and speed Evs each)

Dispite his miserable special attack stat, Mr Fish's STAB surf hits like a truck and 1 shots lvl 20 krabby/magikarps, (has a little trouble with the Staru tho)

Olivane Gym

since there is just one trainer in Olivane Gym, The leader herself, I lead with Dogalog, now lvl 32 with a decent spAttack stat, we should make short work of
her steel types, at the very least all but steelix should be easy.


She leads with a lvl 30 magnemite, mabey i should have level'd a little higher. my Ember nearly 1 shots her first magenemite, the 2nd one finishes the job
and out comes a lvl 35 steelix.... Ouch, this is gonna hurt. Dogalog takes a rock tomb to the face, and is left on 1 hp, Missed it by thaaat much, at least
he got off 2x embers first, But i cant use him again, he wont survive another. jasmine used a super potion on steelix that crushes my spirit just a little,

I sent out Buglife who seeds steelix with leech seed, lets see how well she can deal with the stall master, plus solid defence/Spdef stats, I might have a
chance of tanking.

she hits me for a clean 40 hp, around 1/3rd of my hp... not good. leech seed gets a bit back and takes a nice chunk of steelix's hp, thank god for not resisted.

i recall Buglife just in time as a steel tail tears 30% from snappy as he moves in with all the Defence lowering moves shes using, i cant take another, thankfully shes messing about with def lowering moves, i kill her before steelix gets anymore hits out. Horny takes on the last magnemite, and with supereffective doublekick, drops it mabey 15% hp after the first set of kicks, She then paralizes horny with a thunder wave, but all i need is one more double kick to finsh her. however, full paralysis DOESN'T help and horny is dropped below 50 hp by a sonicboom.... come on son hold in there, the next thunderbolt leaves horny on a pathetic 5 hp, and fully paralyzed, so no damage, we wont get another chance to hit back, since with paralysis hes slower then magnemite, So i switch to spooky who takes a solid 50% from yet another thunderbolt, But he hits back with night shade and finished the job. FINALLY won, nearly lost, but we won.

Gonna need to do some major training before the next gym.

Stat check:

Dogalog - Attack: 63, Defence: 46, spAtk: 65, SpDef: 52, speed: 56 HP: 87 - solid attack/spatk, hopefully doga will survive to lvl 50 to learn flamethrower

Horny - Attack: 59, Defence: 56, SpAtk: 54, SpDef: 54, Speed 57, HP: 93 - Solid member of the team now good attack stat, but could be better, will be better when i get a moonstone

Bug Life - Atk: 47, Def: 58, spAtk: 54, SpDef: 73, Speed: 83 Hp: 104 - From a useless hoppip, Jumpluff is now a good member of my team, and one of the fastest, with a good spdef to boot, Deffo a nice spdef wall.

Snappy - Atk: 82, Def: 82, SpAtk 69, Spdef: 72, Speed: 65, Hp: 106 Now a feraligatr, snappy is a force to be reckoned with, With such high atk/def he can take a hit and give one back.

Spook - atk: 48, Def: 43, SpAtk: 86, SpDef: 48, Speed 81 Hp: 79 - Still a monster hitter, Spooks SpAtk is VERY nice, shame i cant make it a gengar or it would hit harder still.

Mr Fish - Atk: 101, Def: 68, SpAtk: 53 Spdef: 79, Speed: 72, HP: 110 - Still my hardest hitter Mr fish can dish it out much harder then anyone else in my team, and take a solid Spatk hits too


Fairly well balanced team, fairly slanted towards water typing, so Electric pokemon may cause issues, but When i get nidoking ill have the partial ground type meaning i can switch in safely to electric types.
