I once bought a 1980 Firebird powered by a 400 cubic inch Pontiac motor, automatic equipped with a Hurst speed shifter monster.

T'would break your neck at full acceleration, if it t'wern't for the standard head rest.

Slammed the muffler on a low pass river bridge an boy howdy, one could hear Detroit roar from five miles away.

That beast was so fast, I could outrun Grand Ma's holly bush switch.

I loved that car.

The times we had together will always be cherished.

The times I would fish-tail sideways right when making a left hand turn.

The times of cutting and banging up every knuckle on my fists working under the hood.

The times of speeding down country roads so fast it took eight minutes for radio songs to catch up.

The times forty six mile round trip beer-runs only took sixteen minutes.

So here's to good times, back in the day ...
