Quick Start Guide
This guide can be seen in the original form on my website, click my signature for more information.
The following Evony guide applies only if the game is started from scratch, no resources spent. Only a basic knowledge of the game is required. If you are brand new to this game, see the other beginner guides.
The following Evony guide, if followed carefully, will tell you how to earn a level 4 Town Hall and a second city in under 2 hours. The basic concept is to follow the quest line in the most efficient possible way. That means no unnecessary resource buildings until after we have exhausted all possible quest routes. Remember: any buildings that take 5 minutes or less can be sped up for free.
I suggest you use guidelines early and often. They will benefit you much more early game. If you do not want to use your guidelines, you do not have to. However, the timing may be off. Use your best judgment to fix timing issues.

-Congratulations!!! Once you have exhausted most quest routes, it will be very important to shift your focusing on resource income. Good luck, see you on the battlefield!

Reason: Completely reworked this guide.
How can you buy 8000 stone and 12000 lumber in the marketplace without the gold (On server 38 they are both around 4 gold per). That totals a huuuuuge amount of gold to buy those resources. I used game cents to buy them. Other then that, great guide.

Yes on a new server resources are very expensive. There are a few ways to deal with this problem. One solution would be to use some market savvy to buy and sell resources until you can meet the lumber and stone goal of 12000/8000.
If that does not pan out, try questing your way to 2000 prestige using the paths which lose you little or no resources. You will get 30,000 gold as a quest reward with 2000 prestige. Also research all of the technologies once up to a level 3 academy, those quests give you lots of gold.
If you roll and get iron, sell the excess and buy lumber/stone.
Lastly, if all else fails, just start over and try rolling again.
It is a great guide but TommyM is right you sometimes run out of gold because you buy the lumber and stone and if you don't do it you will run out of resources.
So what do you do?
how to claim the cents??
Thank you for the feedback TommyM and Emy1642. You are right, so I completely reworked this guide over the past 3 days. It took a long time but I'm really happy with the result. Thanks to a feature I overlooked, you now only have to buy 5000 stone, at which point you will have around 22,000 gold, so you can afford to buy the stone for 4 gold a piece, which should be no problem whatsoever. I made this guide under the assumption that you get nothing from the wheel, so restarting is no longer necessary.
The feature I overlooked was demolish. The quest that gives you 90 traps is a goldmine. Once you complete it, demolish the 100 traps you will no longer have to buy lumber from the marketplace.
Thanks everyone for the feedback!
