What is the formular for rank and the # of cities you can build?

Rank and Title are two separate things
Rank is a pre-requisite for some titles.
Titles let you have more cities.
If you go up 1 title, you can have 1 more city.
So if your a civilian you can have 1. As a knight you can have 2, and so on."I'm not crazy, OK? I'm totally, completely sane.

you need to become the next title, whatever is after baronette. read the quests, under promotion.

For each different title you get another rank.
Civilian is 1 city.
Knight is 2 cities.
Baronet is 3.
Baron is 4.
Viscount is 5.
Earl is 6.
Marquis is 7.
Duke is 8.
Furstin is 9.
Prinzessin is 10.
Hope that helps, to build each city is the same requirements resource-wise, only thing that changes is title requirement.
