The Lawfullness of UMGE's treatment of Civony as a Beta

I am very interested in this topic, and while the former topic (http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=7047) drifted off topic in a discussion of what exactly is proper forum behavior, I would very much like to read a real discussion on the legal proceedings. The mods were right to close that thread, but--if possible--I would like to see a real discussion on the topic: was it wrong of UMGE to under-inform the players of the fact that Civony was a Beta of Evony. Thoughts?
