Edited: 12/02/09 Repaired by Lord Arumen... again
Edited: 5/06/10 Revising will be done completely in 1 or 2 weeks.

I. TROOP TRAINING

1. Numer of Barracks- Start out with 9 or 10 barracks. You demolish inn, Workshop, Forge, and some other buildings when your done with research. You should have 15 barracks in a balanced city.

2. Level of Barracks- You should have about 4 lv 9, then rest at least lv 4. Then try to get some up to 5, this way you can train Calvary much faster. But as you progress through the game, keep upgrading barracks until you get to the point where you have all level 9s.

3- What do I do with all these barracks?- You share them to all the other barracks. Ex. If you are training 5k archers, and you have 10 lv 4 barracks or above, then you divide the amount of time by 10! Thats 10x faster Archer production. But be smart about it. Sometimes you should use the "share to idle barracks only" box.

4- Maximizing troop production

4A- Okay now that you have your barracks completed, and have a general idea of how you train, you must know how many to train, priority, etc etc. First Go to your feasting hall and switch your hero with the best attack mayor, this lowers training time significantly.

4B- Once you have switched your hero, go to production, then set everything to 0. Except maybe food. This will give you full or close to full idle population.

4C- Now its time to train your troops. Go to your highest level barracks and start training your troops! Make sure you share the training to the other barracks somehow, whatever your preference is.

5- My suggestion- Okay heres how I train

5A. I always do Half of whatever is my maximum training capacity. So In order to get best results, you should have a priority list. Here is my list. Note- This is for a regular training round. If you need one thing, then move it to the top

5B *Archers
* Cataphracts
* Scouts
* Transporters
* Warriors

At different times, you will need to train diffirent troops. In the beginning focus only on transporters and Ballistae until you get about 450 Ballistae and 500 transporters. Once you have achieved this goal, Start training Archers only until you get to about 100k. Then Mix it up a bit with scouts, Cataphracts, and warriors.

6. Troops and their uses

Worker- Very cheap, and its what you get. Workers almost do nothing. They provide a big load, but have almost no fighting ability. Best use it to build new cities with. In combat, workers will always stay out of battle until they are the last troop alive. Ex. Let's say we use the 5,000 range scenario. You send 50k Warriors wand 50k Workers and 1 trap against the opponent's 40k Warriors. As soon as Round 1 starts, Workers will stand still. They stay at the 5,000 range until they are no enemies left.

Warrior- Cheapest troop in the game. Also one of the most used and loved. Warriors in themselves have many uses. Most people will use warriors in clearing out pesky fortifications such as traps, Rolling logs, and Defensive Trechbauchets. Another big use of Warriors is to use them while hitting down a level 10 NPC's loyalty(Look under capturing a level 10 NPC). Yet another use of warriors is to use them as layering for your archers.

Scout- Relatively cheap, and another favorite of Evony users throughout the game. The first and main use is to Scout. Simple, yet an important job. Having the ability to send 100k scouts will let you scout nearly everyone, especially early in the game. Another use of scouts is to defend against enemy scouting. By opening your gates and having many scouts, it will be nearly impossible to scout you. If the enemy can't get a scouting report, he most likely won't attack you. Third and most important use of scouts is the usage of them in a tactic called "Scout Bombing." This method is used to slowly whittle down an opponents Archer levels. The idea is that the scouts, with amazing speed, will reach the Archers in Round 1, and deal heavy damage to them. This tactic is now being used a lot now all over Evony servers. The fourth and final reason why Scouts are necessary, is because you need them to DEFEND against the scout bomb. Having 1 million scouts let's say, while keep you very safe from a potential Scout Bomb.
Pikeman- This particular troop is probably the most unused troop in the game. Basically, their only use it to smack Cavalry/Cataphracts around, and be used in layering. Other than those two reasons, Pikemen are just a waste of Lumber.

Swordsman- What looks like a very formidable troop early on, becomes almost completely irrelevant later in the game. Best use of Swordsmen is to defend against the Scout bomb as they have slightly more speed then Archers, and would take the brunt of the Scout bomb hit without much damage as Swordsmen have high defense.

Archer- Easily becomes the best unit in the game. In a game where speed and range are king, archers have massive range. Coupled with their cheapness, Archers are the most effective unit in the game. Archers are the best unit when attacking an opponent's city. You want to put a main focus on them. I would list the reasons to train them, but quite simply, I don't even need to put a reason.
Cavalry- Another very good unit in Evony. Cavalry are what you could call "Archer killers." Although more expensive, Cavalry absolutely crush Archers. Their speed helps Cavalry to get into a close proximity of Archers very quickly, and they have a nice bonus of 1.5x the damage to Archers. You send 50k Cavalry against 100k Archers, and you expect to win. Cavalry can also be used in lowering an opponent's loyalty real quick, as Cavalry have 1000 speed. Now, you might be wondering why you wouldn't use scouts, as they are even faster then Cavalry. This is because scouts cannot do any damage to walls, and they are pointless in attacking a Wall with.
Cataphract- Basically Cavalry's older brother. Used in the same context of Cavalry, but have much better defense and attack. One big problem with Cataphracts though, is their ridiculous Iron cost.

Transporters- The load gurus. They have a load of 5000, which helps you transport goods to other members in your alliance, and raiding other players cities(or NPCs).

Ballista- Slower and more powerful version of Archers. Would be the best force in the game, except for horrible weakness against good wall defense, and the cost to build. Instrumental in NPC farming

Battering Rams- Seems like a waste of time, but they are not what they seem. You can use the to create a "diversion" while you have a ranged unit firing away without resistance.

Catapults- The strongest unit in the game. Very slow, and very expensive. Mainly used in defense.

7..
Level of barracks and resources needed to train various troops
Lv of barracks/food/lumber/iron/food consumption/population- tech needed needed
I star the expensive particular thing needed. These are the major Weakness for the building of this solider

Worker- 1/50/150/10/2/1- No tech needed

Warrior- 1/80/100/50/3/1- No tech needed

Scout- 2/120/200/150/5/1- Informatis lv 1

Pikemen- 2/150/*500/100/6/1- Military Tradition lv 1

Swordsmen- 3/200/150/*400/7/1- Iron Working lv 1

Archer- 4/300/350/300/9/2- Archery lv 1

Calvary- 5/1000/*600/500/18*/3- Horseback Riding lv 1

Cataphract- 7/2000/500/*2500/*35/6- Horseback riding and Iron working lv 5

Transporter- 6/600/*1500/350/10/4- Logistics lv 1, Metal Casting lv 3

Ballista- 9/2500/*3000/2500/*50/5- Archery lv 6, Metal Casting lv 5

Battering Rams- 9/4000/*6000/1500/*100/10- Iron Working lv 8, Metal casting lv 7

Catapults- 10/5000/5000/*8000(stone)/1200/*250/8- Archery lv 10, Metal casting lv 10.

How Best To get Medals needed for Promotion

Okay, this topic is one of the major topics in Evony right now. They are many differnet theories flying around, but I mainly agree with 1. The 1% theory.

Now to get medals under this theory, you must use what the theory is based out of: Logic. What would logic tell you about getting medals? Attack and keep trying until you succseed.

My Method: Spam the crap out of the valley thats closest to you(level 1-4 for Rose). For this method to work more effectively, you need high Feasting Hall, Rally Point, and Compass.

How to work this method: Send all of the hero's you have(not your politics hero) on an attack with an amount of Archers ONLY. As soon as your attack hits, and you capture the valley, abadon it, so that the next attack hits. Now you may be wondering: Why do this? And the answer is simple. When you abandon a valley, all of the troops regenerate, which gives your next wave a chance to get a medal! So just make sure you space out your archer waves to about 5 to 10 seconds(depending on your server and computer speed). Keep repeating and I promise you that a couple hours of hard work, and you'll have all the medals you need.

Archers needed: Level 1- 40
Level 2- 75
Level 3- 150
Level 4- 375
Level 5 and above you will start to have casulaties. Here I recomend sending at least 700 per wave. But split them up to each hero( Ex. 6,000 Archers could be split up to 1,000 per hero, if you have 6 heros).

Once you have reached that elusive baronet title, you will need to get to be a Baron. This become a little more complicated.

For this promotion you need 10 Lion medals, and 5 Honor Medals.

For Lions, use the above method.

For Honor medals, continually attack level 4 and 5 NPC's with Ballistas, and you will receive your medals. BUT, a lot of the times you will get other medals(such as Freedom). This could get extremely frustrating, but keep at it.

Anything above will be pretty simple, except for Promotions that require Justice and Nation. For those you will have to farm Level 10 NPCs.

Method II

This method was brought forth by Dchwo85, and for that thanks a lot!

Okay, a lot of people are complaining about loses, but that's because you aren't following what I said to do.

First you need
- Level 10 Informatics
- A 90 attack hero or higher
- 20k Archers or so

Once you have reached these goals, then we can start making Rose medals. Look around you, and note any level 10 flats. Write them in a notebook, or whatever. Just make sure you know where they are. One you have done this, send scouts to each one. THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT.
If there is NO cavalry and Archers, then attack.
BUT, if there happens to be Cavalry or archers, then leave the flat alone. If you attack with 20,000 archers, without scouting first; odds are, you will LOSE.
So again, make sure you scout, and attack only level 10 flats WITHOUT Archers and Cavalry.
Always make sure you DO NOT conquer the flat. If you use the abandon trick, the types of troops will change. So by attacking hourly, you will have the same types of troops.

Note: You can also send transporters with your troops, and they will plunder from the flat.

Well I hope this helps, and make sure to do the process right!

Default Defense Guide

Defense Guide

One of the Major points of Evony is defense. The next section of my guide is dedicated to just this.

1. Utilizing Walls Space
With Level 10 Walls you have a total space of 55,000. The key is to utilize every single space. In the end you want 15,000 Archer Towers(AT?s), and 5k Abatis. Now you may be wondering why shouldn?t I build other fortifications like traps, rolling logs, and Defensive trechbauchets. The reason is because they can easily be destroyed by sending waves of warriors. As you build your walls, you should build a 3:1 Archer Tower to Abatis ratio.
1B. Abatis- This 5,000 of these will be your strength. With these, most cataphracts will be eaten up. With a substantial archer army behind the walls, by the time the Abatis are done with the ponies, your archers will rip them up. Now again your probably wondering why can?t he just spam them as well. And the answer is it would be Extremely costly, due to ponies speed, they get in range of ranged units very quickly, which kills them off before they have the time to destroy the abatis.

2. Building Fortifications- The time building these depends on your Mayor?s politics(see Hero section) and your construction level(see research section). Each level takes longer, so Traps are faster to train than Archer Towers.
My recommendation for building fortifications- I like building 300 Archer towers followed by 100 abatis at a time. You will always want to have Archer towers and abatis building, so that you can multi-task, and gain more prestige faster.

3. Defense with Your Army
As you progress into the latter stages of the game, fortifications alone are not enough to defend your city. You must start to build big armies to defend your city as well(just in case you didn?t know, you can have your army fight when attacked by going to rally point, then opening gates). Now there is a lot of controversy over this topic. To defend against the common attack, you simply need to outnumber the archers the opponent has. So training archers for defense is a great way to defend your city. But as you progress people will start to use Cataphracts as well as other attacks. This may be quite scary, but Satan has a way for you!
3B- The 3 attack strategy

In Evony, you will be attacked by mainly 3 different types of attacks.

1(most common). Archer attack- This attack will be made of mainly archers and possibly rainbow, and may or may not include Ballista and catapults. This attack is very simple to defend. Just have your 15,000 Archer Towers as well as at least 50,000 archers and these attacks will not touch you. OR you could have a massive Cavalry or Cataphract army. Remember that both will destroy these units, but if the player is smart, and rainbows his troops, you could have some trouble.

2. (somewhat common), Cavalry or Cataphract Attack- This attack will be made up of almost exclusively Cavalry and ?Phracts. This type of attack will be very good against an Archer-set defense. To Counter this attack, your abatis will do a good job, but you need a lot of pikemen and other layers to stop the ponies in their tracks. Once you have a substantial pikemen army, these attacks should just be slaughter.

3. (common during later stages) Scout Bomb- This attack is extremely rare. To counter this attack, just close your gates. Very simple, but you must be online to do this.

Well this concludes Part III. If you have any questions, or suggestions, please PM me. Thanks.

Food Lumber Stone Iron
9,651,805 30,993,900 32,851,900 9,974,150
To Upgrade 1 of Everything to Level 10

But of course you need more than 1 Farm, Sawmill, ect... so good luck.

Special thanks to Jinnai Tsurugi for creating the Original guide. Going to work on it, so it's a little more readable.

Tips from Satan(me)- One of the more disputed things in Evony today is what to put in our city. Besides the main building, I like 12 Barracks(more when you get techs to level 9 or 10). 0 Wharehouses. And the rest cottages.

You can also demolish buildings by clicking the Do not Enter sign. to demolish the building instantly, you need dynamite. If not, you need to demolish the building level by level.

If anyone can make this chart like the research one, please send me a pm.

Some tips: Archery is by far the best technology in the game. Spend a TON of time on this particular tech. I might also add that Engineering and Machinery has almost 0 worth, so don't research that at all, unless you need prestige.

Intelligence is the key for technology. A high intel hero in the beginning is HUGE. Make it a top priority.

Special thanks to Jinnai Tsurgi for creating the image. Took me a while to find out a way to post it, lol.

Default Tax

Tax Tricks and info

Okay tax is very important in the early stages of the game, as gold is very hard to come by, but later, tax means almost nothing. There are 2 main methods of tax tricks.

50 % Tax Trick

This tax trick is very simple. This is better suited for the average player who can?t be on constantly. If you will be online for 6 hours or less, then use this. To perform this ?trick? just set your tax rate at 50% and watch as the gold piles up. If you have a population of 20,000 then you will receive a steady flow of 10,000 gold per hour, and 240,000 gold per day! It is a great way to make gold if you have a lot of cottages.

100% Tax trick
This tax trick requires much more effort. For this tax trick you need a good amount of food income, and the time to stay online for more than 6 hours, where this tax trick is best utilized. Now to do this tax trick you must keep your tax at 100%, then use disaster relief every 15 minutes. Soon your loyalty will never fall below 96(as long as you don?t forget to use disaster relief). Now, the one problem with this tax trick is you need to be aware at all times, and also be online for a good amount of time. But if you think about it, this way makes MUCH more gold. If you have a population of 20,000 with 50% tax, then you would have a population limit of 40,000. With the 100% tax trick, your loyalty will always be around 100, so your population will be always around 40,000. With 100% tax, you would make 40,000 gold per hour! That?s 960,000 gold per day!!

Items to help boost possible gold production from tax:
Tax Policy
Adv Tax Policy
Plowshare (to increase food production for disaster relief)
Iron Rake (to Increase food production for disaster relief)
Speech Text (Loyalty increase, in case you forgot to use disaster relief)

Formulas for tax and Loyalty:

Loyalty = 100-tax% (unless acted on by somthing else, or by a rapid change in tax %)

Population = Population limit* Loyalty Percantage

Population limit can be increased by building more cottages.

Default Alliance

Alliance Guide

To join an alliance you must: 1. Have an embassy, 2. Accept an invite, or apply for their alliance.

When you click the alliance button once you are in an alliance, a bunch of different options will come up.

Alliance Info
- This section will show you your current alliance?€™s name, players/player limit, ranking by prestige, and total prestige at the top-right. To the top-right, you will see your alliance?€™s info. Note, this is available for all others to see, and usually contains what state the alliance is located, and the prestige requirement to join. To the bottom-left you will see the alliance info. This is available all alliance members. Most Hosts will put some general info such as Flag name etc. And finally, on the bottom-right, you will see your diplomatic relations with other alliances. This will give you a list of all friendly, netraul, and hostile alliances your alliance has. Now, you may be wondering, what does doing this do? Satan is here to explain

Friendly- Technically speaking, this puts the two alliances under a truce agreement, as neither side can attack or scout each others cities or valleys. In many cases these alliances will also declare war on other alliances together to try and help each other achieve each others goals.

Neutral- Technically speaking, this option does absolutely nothing, but some hosts use this to put an alliance on warning or some other type of method.

Hostile
- Makes all flags of this alliance turn red, and doubles honor given when you attack them. Figuratively speaking, this become an all out war where each alliance tries to do as much possible damage to each other.

Member
- Here you can see the different members of your alliance and a few stats.

War Reports- Here you can see the attacks your alliance has made, or been inflicted upon. This is a great tool to moniter your alliance as host.

Events- Here you can see any time a player has joined, or been expelled, as well as diplomatic relations

Alliance List
- Shows all alliances in the server ranked by prestige
Quests for alliance
1. Build an embassy
2. Join an alliance
3. Speak in alliance chat
4. 5 members in your alliance or more
5. 10 members in your alliance or more
6. 20 members in your alliance or more
7. 30 members in your alliance or more
8. 40 members in your alliance or more
9. 50 members in your alliance or more
10. 60 members in your alliance or more
11. 70 members in your alliance or more
12. 80 members in your alliance or more
13. 90 members in your alliance or more
14. 100 members in your alliance or more

Note: Each quest for alliances(except embassy) gains you 100 prestige and 100 gold. Which is way you?€™ll see the early alliance with 100 members with so much prestige.

Joining an alliance- This part will probably be the biggest Evony decision you will make in your entire time playing on this game. This game is made fun because of Alliances, and is what the game is centered on. So, in order to succeed in this game, you must have a good alliance (or know exactly what your doing). When looking for an alliance, you want to look at a couple things.

1. Personal issues-
Is the host a good guy/girl. Is the host experienced? Do you know any members in the alliance? If you said yes to all 3 of these, then that?€™s a big plus. Having people you can chat with, and be friendly with is a nice bonus. Also if the host is experienced, then the alliance will go far.

2. Location, Location, Location- Another HUGE thing while determining whether or not you will join an alliance. Is this alliance in your home state? If not, can you teleport there? Are there any other big alliances in the area? Is this state too crowded for your style, or not crowded enough? Ideal answer: yes, yes, no(unless you really want to fight), no; just perfect.

3. Power-
Okay, this is always the most looked at when joining an alliance, but I think this is overrated. Alliances fall and rise, so power is only short-lived. But, if you need protection, because you?€™re a ?€œcausal?€? player, then this would be big. Big alliances will put fear into other alliances, so they won?€™t touch you. Also, a good way to determine a alliance?€™s potential, is to use this formula, Amount of prestige/Amount of players. This will give you a good estimate for smaller alliances, and their potential.
Note: This list is in no particular order, but of as of course, some things are bigger than other. Each list will change depending on what type of player you are.

Running an alliance
Many people make many mistakes while running an alliance, but if you follow me, you will never make a mistake. Here is my list

1- Rise to Power
- For every alliance to be successful, you have to have good strong members. To get that, you need to have a good alliance, or players will join other bigger alliances. DO NOT make an alliance after the first couple of days of the server, because most people will already be a part of another alliance. You want to make an alliance on the first day, if you want to be in the top 50 or so(of course, there are exceptions). Once you have your alliance up and running, you can move onto the next number in the list

2. Recruiting- This will be the biggest role you will have as a host in the early stages of your alliance. You need members in your alliance to rise to power. First off, you need a player who has a Ritual of Pact (commonly referred to as RoP). This will set your alliance limit to 100, and let you have the max amount of players, so that you can grow quickly. After you?€™ve gotten this item, it?€™s decision time. You have to decide what you want your alliance to be. Here are the categories-
Sister Alliance- This alliance will basically be a continuation of a powerful alliance that has 99 or 100 members. While you sacrifice your leader position, you gain power, and protection.

Regular alliance
- Just at the topic says, your alliance?€™s goal will to go through the ranks, and become #1. You are 2nd to no one.

Elite alliance- These type of alliances are becoming more and more popular these days. This type of alliance will have high prestige demands, and most likely low members. You have to be the best of the best to be in this type of alliance.

Once you have decided what type of alliance you want to be, you need to recruit like one. There are 2 major methods to do this. You can either 1, look at a target audience from statistics, mail each one that?€™s not in an alliance, and try to get them to apply. Or invite people that talk from World Chat.
Now you will be on your way to having a great and powerful alliance.

Flags

Gold = One of your cities
Green = One of your alliance's cities
Blue = One of your allies cities
Gray = Either unallianced or neutral
Red = Enemies city

Default Making new Cities

1.) Introduction:

Conquering or Building new cities in Evony is a great way to increase your power, via more resource gathering and troop production abilities.

Each city is its own living breathing society, complete with its own Population, army, Gold, food, lumber, stone, and iron. On average though, more cities equal a more powerful player.

(Note: Remember if you build a second city this makes you vulnerable to conquering... meaning someone could take over your main city, make sure you can manage both cities, before you build a second city)

2.)Building a New City:

This is a simple task, and you will be able to build your First new city relatively early in the game.

(Note: You must attain the rank of Knight to control a second city. (You gain ranks by earning Medals. Medals are consumed upon promotion))

First you must conquer a FLAT, not a swamp, lake, woods, hill or desert mind you, be sure it?€™s a FLAT (seen in the description of the area) go for low level flats at first.. They are easiest to conquer.

Once you control a flat recall your troops back home.

Now, you must have these items in your Main City.

250 Workers
10,000 gold
10,000 food
10,000 lumber
10,000 stone
10,000 iron

Now simply select the flat you conquered, and click on the "Build City" button in the middle of the screen that pops up.!
Soon you will have your very own secondary city!

3.) Pitfalls of a New City:

Its not all fun and games at first with a brand new city, and you will notice that your food is already in the negative!

The first thing you?€™re going to want to build is a Rally Point... build this and click speed up. Then send your Workers back to your main city. Now you?€™re ready to get building for real.

(Note: Start with Resource fields as they will help you the most in construction of your new city)

Remember your new city is totally defenseless at start! It would be very easy for it to be smashed down by a rival alliance. So protect it if it?€™s in danger (garrison troops from your main city here)

Also, now that you have two cities... you can LOSE a city! Meaning your no longer immune to having a city taken away from you. If someone lowers your city's loyalty to 5 or lower, you are in serious danger of losing it to them.
You will also notice that you don?€™t get any new quests from building certain things, as you did when you were first starting out. So the best way to start off when building a new city, is to send tons of resources to it. Or else you will be stuck, and your prestige will suffer.

4.) Conquering a City:

This is quite a bit harder than simply building a new city. You must take the opposing player?€™s city, and trust me, they will hold onto it for dear life(remember that you cannot take his/her city if that city is their only one). Once you are set to attack just follow these steps

1. Scout the city-
This is to see if you will be able to take down this player or not. For more on this subject please see Darkbrady?€™s guide on battle mechanics, to see if you have what It takes. Or you can PM me, and ask me yourself. Remember to NEVER use exercise as this is very inaccurate, and could cause you to lose thousands of troops.

2. Attacking!- If you feel like you have what It takes to take down this player, then you must attack him/her. First clear any traps/rolling logs/ trechbauchets, by sending 2 waves of warriors(1 warrior to every trap, 2 warriors to every Rolling Log, 3 warriors to every trechbauchet) of however many of those fortifications the opposing player has. After these 2 waves, you need to send your spearhead. This wave will consist of mainly Archers + layering (again see Dark Brady?€™s guide for information on this, or PM me). Hopefully, this will take out all of the rest of his troops/fortifications.

3. Spamming- This is the most tedious thing in conquering a city. Now this can vary determined by the type of player your facing. First you want to take out all of his/her resources, so he/she can?€™t build more troops or fortifications. This will also kill off his entire army. Once you have done this, send continuous of waves of Cavalry. If you don?€™t have enough Cavalry for this, then send the next highest speed unit. Once loyalty is down so low, that It won?€™t budge, you can take a little rest, and wait for public grievance to go up. Make sure to attack every so often with transporters or workers to make sure his/her resources are very low. Once loyalty is 0 and public grievance is at 100, you will have a new pre-made city!

Default NPC Farming

NPC Farming

1. Building or ?€œSpawning?€? an NPC

This is to build NPC?€™s around you so that you can farm them conviently, instead of traveling many miles just to farm one. First attack and take over a flat. Then build a city on that flat. As soon as the city is completed, build a rally point(speed it up) and send your workers home with the resources leftover in that city. Once you have done that, abandon the city, and Presto! A freshly made NPC city will be created for you to farm.

2. RESOURCES/TROOPS/DEFENSE

NPC city resources are replenish each 8 hrs, a barbarian city will take approx 1 hour to regenerate all to full (10% of the full amount per 6 minute tick). A barbarian city will also immediately regenerate approx 18% of all lost wall units each time some are destroyed. Example: if you destroyed 1000 towers and hit it again 1 second later 180 towers will be back. This here below is a chart of all troops, fortifications, and resources each NPC has.

3. ATTACKING
When attacking Level 5 NPCs(this is the highest level in which you will have 0 loses), you need to have no loses in order to make it worthwhile. Below is a chart of the approved Horseback Riding/Archery technology combos.

Archery 08 / HBR 03 (Massive losses due to being in tower range)
Archery 08 / HBR 04 (Smalls losses from units but safe from Archer Towers)
Archery 08 / HBR 05 (0 Losses )
Archery 08 / HBR 06 (0 Losses )

Archery 08 / HBR 07 ( Small losses from units but safe from Archer Towers )
Archery 08 / HBR 08 (Massive losses due to being in tower range)
Archery 08 / HBR 09 (Massive losses due to being in tower range.)

Archery 09 / HBR 01 (Small losses from units but safe from Archer Tower range)
Archery 09 / HBR 02 (0 Losses when using many ballistae. Note that results will vary)

Archery 09 / HBR 03 (0 Losses )
Archery 09 / HBR 05 (Small losses from units but safe from Archer Towers)
Archery 09 / HBR 06 (Small losses from units but safe from Archer Towers)
Archery 09 / HBR 07 (Small losses from units but safe from Archer Towers)

Archery 09 / HBR 08 (0 Losses )
Archery 09 / HBR 09 (0 Losses )

Archery 10 / HBR 0 (0 Losses )
Archery 10 / HBR 05 (0 Losses )
Archery 10 / HBR 06 (0 Losses )
Archery 10 / HBR 07 (0 Losses )
Archery 10 / HBR 08 (0 Losses )
Archery 10 / HBR 09 (0 Losses )
Archery 10 / HBR 10 (0 Losses )

(copied from syoganai1111 thanks)

4. NUMBER OF Ballistae To Attack

(Note: You still need one of the above zero loss Archery/HBR combination s)

10 Ballistae for level 1; 20 Transporters
40 Ballistae for level 2; 60 Transporters
90 Ballistae for level 3; 130 Transporters
275 Ballistae for level 4; 300 Transporters
400 Ballistae for level 5; 450 Transporters

Make sure you also have one of the above Horseback Riding/Archery combination s. You can also farm Level 6 and higher NPC?€™s.
Level 6- 3 waves of 1,000 Warriors then a fourth wave of 50k+ Archers with layering
Level 7- 4 waves of 1,250 Warriors then a fifth wave of 65k+ Archers with layering
Level 8- 7 waves of 2,000 Warriors then a eight wave of 90k+ Archers with layering
Level 9- 98k Archers with layering
Level 10- 95k Archers with layering(must have all level 10 techs and a very high hero attack)

For level 6-8 you may not use warriors, but it is suggested you do to keep archer loses down. If you have any battle reports to show, please post them, or send them to me in a PM. Thanks.
Give credit to Lynnore for most of this guide, although I changed a lot of things about it, I got the core info from her. Thanks

Default Taking a level 10 NPC

Complete reference to conquer a level 10 NPC

I. INTRODUCTION

A level 10 NPC is primarily taken for the level 10 buildings it has. Those 37 x level 10 farms (+ 3 x level 9) when coupled with 10 x level 10 lakes plus a decent Politics Hero like say 120 provide a food production of about 1.5m per hour. I have had experiences with several levels 10 NPCs. So, whatever is posted here will have those experiences, standing behind.

II. PREREQUISITES

1. Troops

This depends upon two factors -
1. Proximity of your target level 10 NPC from your attacking cities,
2. Method you are able to choose for this process.

Single City Method - 170,000 Archers & 150,000 Warriors [6-10 Heroes] Time taken: about 60 - 90 minutes (from Hit#1)

. Multiple City Method - 140,000 Archers & 320,000 Warriors [40 Heroes approx.] Time taken 1 - 2 minutes from Hit#1

First wave aka Spearhead wave should take down the fortifications and troops inside it. Some fortifications might still remain and regeneration will be higher initially. Second and third waves should be slightly bigger than the rest.

2. Extra Town Slot

This is quite obvious, however if you want to do this exercise while you are a Marquis or Duke and that you don?€™t have an extra town slot, you might depend on your attacks for the medal drops and thereby you await your next title during the course of action. This is absolutely fine as long as you need about 4 justice medals and 4 nation medals. If you need more, then you must be prepared with a few additional troops to prolong the attacking sequence.

3. Penicillin, Corselet & War Horn

For a first timer, these can be of great help, otherwise you must be prepared for the losses. Good Attack Hero can compensate for corselet and horn but penicillin has its impact in reducing losses.

4. Scouting Heroes inside the NPC

whenever you scout an NPC, the hero changes inside. So continue to scout the city until you get a low level hero inside.

5. Technology Levels

Archery, MT, Medicine & IW should be maxed out. Additionally. ALERT!!- Compass should be LEVEL 9 for less losses. While this doesn?€™t make a lot of sense, due to the battle mechanics, compass level 10 will increase losses.

6. Heroes to be sent

Get ready with the heroes to be sent. All should have ATT greater than 130 or so. Based on the no. of waves to be maintained in action, you will need about 5 to 10 heroes. If the hero for spearhead has an attack of ~175, it's fair enough to reduce losses. As per Method#1, 6-10 Heroes will be needed. As per Method#2, 40+ heroes will be needed.

7. Buildings

Rally point ?€“ This building should be of level 9 min. (level 10 serves the best). For those who aren?€™t aware of, a level of Rally Point adds up 10,000 troops to be sent in a single wave.

Feasting Hall ?€“ For a similar reason as above (in this case the no. of heroes engaged), this needs to be of level 9(min.) to make the best use of it.
Note: If you attack an NPC in next tile of distance 1 mile, you will probably end up in a round trip of about 7 minutes. Since 1 minute is a nice gap to be maintained, you will need 7 waves in action to keep it going. However, if the distance is 3 miles or more, the round trip will be mostly 16 minutes or more and hence you need to space out wider which means you take more losses.

8. War Ensign (Optional)

this is an item which can be applied by ticking the small checkbox located in the top left of Marching Window. This will include as much as 25% additional troops to be deployed out of a single wave, so this finds its use in the Spearhead wave to take minimal losses. From the next wave onwards, don?€™t forget to un-tick it; else you keep losing this item unnecessarily. If you have only level 9 Rally Point, then this will prove to be of great use for the spearhead wave.

III. Wave composition

a. Single City Method ?€“
The NPC should be on next tile, ideally. If it's more than 3 miles away, then this method will have huge losses.
Spearhead- You want 86k Archers + layering, 96k Archers + layering or 123k Archers + layering. It all depends on what you did with your rally point, and if you applied your war ensign

Note: Before Spearhead, a few waves of warriors can be sent but that doesn?€™t give a big impact esp. due to the high initial regeneration

Wave 2 - 3 ?€“
20,000 archers +
20,000 warriors +
Rainbow (optional)

After Wave 3, ?€“
10,000 archers +
15,000 warriors +
Rainbow (optional)
Then you can just continually send waves of waves of this. You can also slowly add more Archers if you have the man power. Remember this is a ratio, and you can always increase the ratio if you want less loses.

b. Multiple City Method

Spearhead - 90,000~125,000 archers (approx.) (based on your Rally Point level and whether you have applied war ensign or not)+
Rainbow (one of each other troop for the layering) (optional)

Wave 2 - 3 ?€“
20,000 archers +
20,000 warriors +
Rainbow(optional)

After Wave 3, ?€“
7,000 warriors +
Rainbow(optional)

Detailed Explanation of method #2 can be found here, thanks to arislan1999

2. Medals drop / Wave timings balance

Medals drop only when a good no. of troops are killed. The spearhead wave usually gets a medal (where you slaughter 400,000 warriors). In the subsequent waves, only fortifications regenerate, so you may not get medals. Troops regenerate as 40,000 warriors once in about 6 minutes where you can expect a medal drop. If you look out for more medal drops, you would like to prolong the process, so you can maintain the wave gap as 2 minutes or so. Otherwise, it can be as less as that can be sustained. 4 Justice and 4 Nation medals are quite normal to be set as minimum expectations.
Note: Method#1 is apt for medal hunt. Method#2 is for advanced players and for long distance captures.

3. Loyalty reduction

The starting value is 91 at the level 10 NPC. It loses 3-4 per successful attack (depends on the wave composition) till the value goes down to ~60 and thereafter it loses 2-3 per attack, totaling to ~40 attacks.

Note: While I do know a LOT about Evony, one thing I don't know too well is how to takeover a level 10 NPC. I did it, but I didn't use the greatest method. So all thanks to Lord Prabhu for the guide. I did change some thing in it, but again the core info is from Lord Prabhu. If anyone has any battle reports to show, please PM them to me, or post them here.

Note: I have seen a lot of questions on how to take level 1 NPCs. My advice is to NEVER take any NPC city under 10, as the loses are just not worth it.
