It is a "Freemium" Game. Yes you can play for free, but buying some coins will help you quite a bit.
There are arguments about whether AgeII will make a ceiling on how much a non payer can achieve but that is not here nor there.
Many of our best and oldest players have never spent a dime. There are certainly some advantages for those who choose to purchase cents, and they help keep the game free for the millions of players who do not purchase cents.
Cheers,
Mike
I was the most potent and feared force on 2 servers and I done that only using the $5 package on each. Using your brain goes a long way in this game and to be a force you really need to start a server in the first couple of days. If you come in after a server is 2 weeks old you will be behind the eight ball
It is possible to succeed without spending money.
I have been successful on servers I spent no money on.
I have not seen a great difference in the end result on servers I spent money on. If you spend money, your city advances a little faster. But in the end, there's not much difference.
Thanks for everyone's insight. I can't afford to buy right now but I like this game so far and wanted to know if it would be feasible for me to continue.
Thanks again!
if you're on a new server don't pay. You'll be just fine playing without paying. If you're on a well established server, i'd say switch to a new one or be ready to shell out big bucks.
Yes, if you train ur heroes well and farm only lv 10 NPCs you will be able to get almost everything from farming them.
I've found that once you get to a certain point there's only a limited number of items you actually want...
On War, Excalibur, Teleporters (If you play that way), Truces (If you play against me),And the combat buffs... Most of this can be gotten through other methods anyway...
Yes, the game can be played, and your account prosper and make it to the top on zero Evony Cents a day.
I have seen it done, firsthand.
however, to do so, you are going to have to spend an obscene amount of time, which is equivalent to spending money. Either way, you are spending somehing
This is the problem i had. Due to me being new i made some errors in the early parts of the game. In order to build npc's which i needed i had to advance to baronet. I spent two weeks farming level 10 valleys and flats to win medals. At 5 hours a session it became very boring, time consuming and cost me a lot of troops. I gained many medals but was still very short on the medals i needed.
A $30 package got me enough cents to buy promotion to the next 2 levels. To do this in gameplay would take 100 hours or more. $30 can be earned in 2 hours.
You have to spend alot of time anyway, troops don't feed themselves, and you don't make enough money off the buying resources button...
Yes U can play without money if u live in Iraq i play in server 102 i play since 6month .. i make my hero lvl 250 without many im baron becuz i play emulet from the first time in server to win 1ooo cents ( i enter in 200 acc to win this )
Regards

It's perfectly possible to play for free. At the start, you will get some boost out of cents, but its not a significant one. Once you reach certain point in the game, the only things you find useful are teleporters, and combat/hero buffs.
Instead of teleporters you can use jump cities or cap lvl10s from distance. Excaliburs, corselets, horns etc are not necessary for any battle, you will just face slightly higher losses.
This is true.
Some of the people who don't purchase cents are in fact better than many of those who do.
But the people who buy cents, usually buy teleporters.
These teleporters can be taken from them by failed battles and stuff and can keep a non-paying player from having to purchase anything.
There really doesn't seem to be an advantage when someone buys cents compared to those who don't. (Besides teleporting at will).
So next time you come across a coin buying person... you may realize that they could be buying things in order to survive in the game... while you don't have to. (That's not saying there aren't any good players buying coins).
I would definately donate atleast $10 once... not because I want the items... but because I like the game. And many people are probably doing this.
