i'm unofficialy jealous -its a state secret! :bunny:
Kite, I think I like your name better for that class than mine. :D Just to remind you, it's my first class of the day, so make sure you're there on time. ;)
Is there any list for teachers or do we make it up as we go along?
First page, click on Blue arrow to the teachers. Larin is the Healing teacher.
And thenk you, Fall, but I have to go now. Also, I don't get that class until after the first quest.
I dont want to annoy anyone but could we (and I say we because I want to help) perhaps fill-out the teachers more, giving them personalities and appearences? doesnt have to be too detailed just the basics like 'hes nice' 'shes cold' 'she makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside' 'he doesnt'. That kind of thing?
If a teacher on that list strikes you as being most suitable for teaching a class that you make, then it's normally fine to use them as the professor for it. We'll tell you if you accidentally use a professor that we're using for another class at that time.
Rule of thumb is, the classes are normally an hour long each class, unless typed differently. I do believe earliest starts at what we would normally consider 8am, if I recall right. You may end your class day whenever you feel like it, but make it realistic. You are probably not going to finish your school day before lunch, in other words. :) You do not have to list the details for every one of your classes after the first day of visits, normally, but with most of us past that stage, Holey may be the best one to advise you on that.
For most classes, there's three ranks. Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced. You can test out of a Basic class, but at this point, you would probably have to write in you did it during your entrance exam. No testing out of an Intermediate class until you level up a bit please, unless you get permission from jannge or Holey to do so.
*Thinks I'm starting to sound like the secretary to the principal, now!*
We do have a curfew, that was enforced for all of one night...up to jannge to when he starts reinforcing it again, and how. I think that covers it, except for a basic floorplan. Which we make up as we go. There's a library, the cafeteria, the infirmary, an indoor gym, the classrooms, the Main Training Grounds outside and a bit away from the Academy front doors, with more interspersed around the outside and around the Academy for multiple fighting classes to use,...and separated male/female dorms, which we have quite a few empty rooms, so you don't have to worry about a room mate just yet. I'd assume we have a spot for the Alchemy and infirmary garden somewhere in the center of the school proper, as well as Ardenian's little slice of hidden haven. Oh, and a school uniform hasn't really been implemented. I think that's due to the fact that we are supposed to be wearing armor appropriate clothing, for when we do need it.
Other useful information:
Tranberg proper is really only a short walk from the Academy. It boasts a few different inns, a large marketplace, a theatre, a town jail and several different shops, including clothing stores, a book store, a magical weapons shop (co-opting Ardenian's mage friend for that), a normal armor/weapons shop, and anything else that might be in a town with probably magical indoor plumbing. Transactions are normally done in gold, earned by whatever means you can think of. Transportation, for long distance trips, would be by carriage, horse drawn. Unless someone is really good at teleporting or other such spells, and even they would have a distance ratio.
Edit: Only a few have really progressed to that point, Asta, since we've been NPC'ing them mostly ourselves. Let me see if either of the guys posts that, and if they don't, I might when I get a few moments.
So does real time have anything to do with our rp time, or does time just play out as we see fit?
Also i dont quite get how the training/ level advancement works yet but i guess i'll find out soon enough.
Let's see if I can explain. We're using normal days, normal times, and all. How you make use of the individual hours is the tricky thing. When we're in classes, you don't want to get too far or behind everyone. Especially when two or more of us are in the same class. If one of us ends a class that you're in before you can post, you can, to a point, just summarize what you got out of that class, and go on to your next class, or whatever.
Weekends, to a point, are a lot more time flexible, since we don't have weekend classes. Just try to keep track of where most of us are time wise. You can 'timeskip' ahead, if you get too far behind, but by and large, if you end up going too far forward, you'll have to wait on us to catch up, or if approved, you might be able to post edit, if the jump wasn't too large. Sometimes, we'll use the OOC to clarify what day/time we're currently all in, or just ask.
jannge is really the only one who has any idea how the level system works. All we know is that you level by going on the quests that are coming up, or by GM intervention. (Which, BTW Mr. Headmaster, when do we get our notification?)
ok gotcha :)
