What kind of kitty? Mine has been jumping into my lap a lot today, moreso than normal. He must be in a good mood, or something, or just in need of affection.
I can't remember the name of my cat's breed, sorry to say, though it's something with 'American' and I think 'shorthair' in the same sentence. Has the colour of a ginger cat too, a bit..
My cat's like this, uber-affection wanter, and she meowed to get me awake. Not the best way to wake up, really.
I feel sorry for our dog too, every time the dog comes in, the cat jumps off of her sleeping place, or the pace she would sleep/sit/stand, and go stick her tail infront of the dogs nose.

Mine doesn't hesitate to meow your ears off when he thinks it's time to feed him treats... but he's awesome. Kinda a cranky old man sometimes, but I guess by the time they're old, they have the right to be cranky a bit.

I'm quite attached to my old cat, had him since I was quite a bit younger than you.
I tend to like all cats, but my old cat will never be tolerant of younger cats, he's too set in his old cat ways.
