The legal field. Because of these bad economic times, people who work for private companies tend to get fired rather than the government's workers.

Uh, do you know ANYTHING about what you're talking about? The vast majority of lawyers work for private firms. Yes, a few have government positions as prosecuting attorneys or state-provided defense, but the real money is in private practice.
