How do you feel about this? Personally I'm glad for the issue to be taken into consideration again. However, I find it sick and twisted that the only two times in my nations (USA) history when we actually looked into how our children are being fed is while considering if they are fit enough to die in war.

Obesity starts at home, not at school. Regulate the parents bad habits- oh wait, they can't. They are just going to start feeding kids a healthy but unflavored paste. They already have the unflavored paste part down, from what I remember. lol

My county's school food isn't healthy nor tasty... hell, I found a rather large piece of metal in the taco meat once (in elementary school) and the school lunch that the county serves at my current school is even worse :eek:
The cheese is like plastic and the pizza is like cardboard!

However, my school (thankfully) has a culinary program that serves REAL food. Sure, some of it isn't too healthy (stuffed pizza) but at least its edible :D

About bloody time someone noticed this. Personally I like what these guys are doing; after all its not like the kids HAVE to join the military later if they don't want to.

We have a good reason to eat healthy. Hundreds of them. We're just too :modedit:ing selfish, lazy, greedy, and irresponsible to do it.

I wouldn't mind it a bit healthier, but then I could just go to the deli bar at my school :P

Most cafeteria staff work really hard but very few schools in the US are set up with kitchens where people cook food from scratch. Food hygiene laws and state food budgets are tight and that results in poor quality food cooked with as much skill and love as those hardworking kitchen staff can bring to it. The reality is that in the US prison food and school food are contracted from the same sellers. I'd love it if proper kitchens could be installed, the kitchen staff could be trained to offer meals cooked from scratch (and paid accordingly). A lot of kids go to school and eat their only hot meal of the day there. That's a shame, but when that only hot meal is pizza and fries, it becomes a tragedy. By not spending money providing healthy food to kids, there's a higher bill to pick up down the line.

if you want less fat kids, i recommend track, pay for sport benefits to get back into shape, stop whining and suck it up :p
