Customer service 101.
Problems ('accidents', 'random finds in broken code', etc.) HAPPEN. People understand that.
What the Evony community doesn't understand is lack of communication.
I'd imagine 99% of the Evony forum-goers are 'paying-customers'; so, what's so hard about typing up a one-sentence statement:
"Servers are coming down for maintenance earlier than expected, we're sorry for any inconvenience"
14 words. I type fairly fast, most programmers -should- be typin' ~120 words per minute. What's that, less than 10 seconds to post a simple sentence?
120 a minute...
Let me repeat....
I'm fairly good for a guy, and I'm at only half that...
Despite your exaggeration, I get the point. Sometimes it's not feasible to post an annoucement prior to an emergency. It is, however, feasible to post something within a few minutes after knowing that there's an emergency...
But wouldn't that defeat the purpose of early maintenance???
Dear Evony Customers,
We are doing an early reset to catch people running the 3rd party software.
This will happen in 3 hours....
Would be kinda redundant wouldn't it.??
I was on when the reset happened. The same six minute warning that saw all the people caught in the last round.
Which of course, they were all innocent. lol
Anybody else having problems logging into Evony????:D
I had to type 120 words a minute to pass high school typing, 20 yrs ago.
