I myself have had my forces plundered and murdered while trying to rein a much larger player but I have to agree with the reasoning behind it. Newer players already have enough to deal with, the last thing they need is some vet player forcing them to pay for they're safety.
I think there is a much smaller number of people forcing little players to pay them tribute, and a much larger number of legitimate reasons someone would transport or reinforce a larger pres player. So this fix basically just screwed a lot of people in order to stop a very small number from being dooshbags. Which I really don't get, because evony has never shown that they have any problems with dooshbaggery before. And anyway, If someone is trying to force you to pay tribute, there are a number of things you can do. Either join an alliance that can defend you, or TP and find a new area. The odds of landing next to another bungwaffle who will try that is next to none. Then, once you can stand on your own, hunt him down and crush him. It's as simple as that.
Unfortunately if all players had the option to extort smaller players the majority of them would do so. I'll admit that most vet players understand a smaller players position and show mercy but the games about survival and supporting massive armies. Extortion would be just as effective as NPC farming with a large enough number of weak players.
Funny how they say this feature was to prevent people demanding tribute for protection in Age I, and then they go and make this the only form of "attacking" in Age II i.e colonizing.

Instead of just losing rescources they also would lose troops!!!!
the reason it was set in place was so people couldint have like 10 diffrent accounts and just send all rescources to one.
does this also apply to reinforcing over longer distances?
I remember plonking down a good 200-250 miles from home base and my alliance filled me up with scouts :) Now, this being at least 4 months old. And I was ~top 5-10 in pres in my alliance, so begs the question, if reinforcing over long range, does the bug still affect? can't quite believe ppl would be bullying over 200 miles!
There is no bug, it is working as intended, and there is no "begging the question" involved as this is an intended mechanic meant to keep multis from having low prestige accounts in the same alliance sending resources to the main account, but never getting any bigger.
Transporting and prestige table
0-2.99x prest = 0% losses
3-4.99x prest = 46% losses
5-6.99x prest = 73% losses
7-8.99x prest = 86% losses
9+ x prest = 93% losses
So basically if 2.99x more then it is a 100% chance successful transport

that makes a bit of sense now... I think I was ~1.2 mil pres and the ppl sending me scouts were at least 400k pres. That would make them safe :)
And yes, I've lost troops transporting stuff too :( In a new server, trying to help an established but beaten up alliance get back on its feet, training them up. more often than not, my trans got plundered.
