I know that ballistae are generally considered a bad attacking unit, but I have a couple reasons to believe that they may be very good against Atlantis.
-From LVL10 NPC experience, we think they're bad attackers, because they die on the trebs/traps/logs (ATs).
From PvP combat, we know they are too slow and will die on (reinforced?) archers, ballistae, ATs, pults.
However, these 3 factors don't matter for the purpose we are using them for. We know they'll die in the end, but all they have to do, is take out the first big group that's in front of them (pikes/warriors/rams).
-The traps/logs/trebs will be almost all cleared, from 50 previous 100K attacks. Your ballistae won't die much on them. (as opposed to LVL10s)
-The advantage of 125K ballistae over 1.25M archers, is hero attack. For 1x 125K attack, you can send your very best hero. For 10x 125K wave, your heroes won't all be top heroes. This is way easier for leveling up your hero(es), you can put your focus in your top hero, which may also lead the faster troop training. You also just need 1 excalibur for the buff.
-Another advantage of the ballistae kamikaze, is that you will need less cities/rally points near Atlantis. The coordination will also be a lot easier.
-Way easier to train 125K ballys than 1M-1.3M (whatever is the equivalent in taking out pike/war/ram). You can just put huge queues of ballys in ur barracks, and won't have to look at it for a long time; you only need the lvl9 barracks tho. Also, idle population will be less of a problem. You can even demolish an extra cottage, maybe 2, meaning 1-2 more barracks.

Again, all just theories, just looking for some help in coming up with a good strategy for an attack on Atlantis.
