The problem with warehouses is that a level 9 warehouse, with level 10 stockpile tech, holds ... (wait for it) ... 900k in resources. It doesn't hold any gold, it's not 900k of each resource, it's 900k total resources to be split among the resources that you want to store in there. But wait, it gets better, if you actually use a script, then with level 10 stockpile, you get an additional 200k space, for a grand total of 1.1 million resource space. But wait, it gets even better than that, if the attacker has maxed privateering (assuming it's 3% per level, rather than only leaving 3% protected) then you lose 30% of that space, and you only get to store 630k resources (770k with a level 10 warehouse).
It also does not store anything in any open space (from the % space allocation you set); in other words, if you set each to 25%, set a queue that uses up all of one of the resources, then it'll only hold 75% of what it can hold, the unprotected amount of any other resource will be left unprotected.
So, you get to lose everything when you get attacked and have no gold to heal your wounded troops, or you lose everything except 630k resources and have no gold to heal your wounded troops. You also have no wall defenses left, your public grievence needs to be taken care of from that 630k resources, you need to start 'rebuilding' from that 630k resources, and your attacker is probably going to make another withdrawl from your city within a day at most wiping out your rebuilding attempts.
