Yup, just found out. Good info. And thanks for providing the link and not writing in large letters.
Warehouses are useless in Age2, they serve no purpose whatsoever.
Relief station 9 is no different than Relief Station 8, look it up on 10,000 various wiki sites all over the web.
Purposely being colonized in Age2 is the DUMBEST thing you can do:
1) you can have no colonies of your own, and colonies serve well for providing you with extra resources.
2) No matter how careful you are, you will lose troops sometimes, being drafted.
3) farming medals for any length of time becomes impossible. yes, you can get off an attack or two here or there without the troops being discovered by your suzerain, but he will eventually catch on.
4) If you are hiding troops in secondary accounts, or players from other servers create an account on your server and don't play it, you are the lowest form of low. Use real players for your reinforcements, don't take advantage of the fact that Evony has stopped wipeing inactive cities for 2 months now.
We don't know that yet. Age 2 is still young and nobody knows the middle and end games yet.
Rooger that Golden Eagle.... we have a bogey on our 6....
Well, to each his own. But ask yourself this question: This is a war game, that means going DEEP into enemy territory and taking it from the enemy, right?
So how do you do that? By taking away their historicals and holding them. How can you do that? Port 2-3 strong players near it, cap it, then the 3 players hold the entire area (state for that matter) and everything is OK from that point forward? Wrong. A great number of players need to move into the enemy territory and expect to get colonized. If they are always fighting off colo attempts then they will never be able to cap the historical. So they need to learn to play from a colonized position because even if they are NOT colonized, the historical will draft from them. So how can you get close to a enemy historical and cap it and hold it yet avoid the troops drafts? Thus I wrote my guide. It not only helps players learn to play while being colonized, it also helps players learn how to invade enemy territory in Age 2 and not worry about getting troops drafted so they can focus on capturing the "fort" from the enemy.
If you don't see value in that, then ok. Each can play their style. But as for me, I LIKE playing in enemy territory and taking "forts" from enemies.
Edit: One time I caught a state records Large Mouth Black Bass. It was 14 pounds 9 ounces. My buddies did not want to come with me to the area I wanted to go to because the mosquitoes were insane. So I went alone. I got bit up by the mosquitoes. But you know what? I caught a state records that day. I did not WANT the mosquitoes to bite me, but I put up with it because it was part of the price I was willing to pay in order to get to that spot.
Everyone runs around in Age 2 like getting colonized is like losing a city, or worse. But then they will kill 50k archers in 1 day farming or trying to colonize some player and not blink an eye. If you learn to deal with colonization and are willing to put up with it, then you can achieve far greater goals in Age 2. I don't have time for mosquitoes and I ain't got time to bleed. I got time for one thing, building up to kill me some enemies and take over an area.
Or you can just wear some netting and not get bit.
For you this may work, but you do have to understand this is not the best strat, but in fact the worse, you will never have the power that a real Suzerain has, you will never be able to produce the amount of troops they have or pump out as many resources.
This strat only works if your down in the first place, its ineffective compared to being on the top, it is not the best way to play age2 and never will be. I will be effective for those that don't have what it takes to survive in the real world of age2.
The good players that have colonized Hosts of other strong Alliances and such will be experiencing the True AgeII one that is a lot more Brutal then Age1, Dealing with 1m+ Archer uprises weekly from multiply cities well they still capture HCities and are attacking them selves.
You will never experience the rush of suppressing a triple 1 Million archer uprising as I have.
Colinization DOES put me at a slight disadvantage in SOME respects. But in other respects it puts me at an advantage. Do the advantages I get from being colinized outweigh the disadvantages? I don't know. But so far, for me it has.
It is about capturing enemy strongholds and taking over the area. Nobody wants to go deep into enemy territory and put a "camp" there, otherwise known as establishing a "colony". It takes guts, resolve and patience. You know what I told my alliance before I moved all of my cities next door to 100,100 about 2 months ago? I told them, "Well, I am going to abandon all of my cities because I don't have adv teles. Then rebuild ALL of them DEEP in enemy territory all around 100,100... and I know I will be colonized but I don't care." That is almost exactly what I told them. Nobody followed me for a a week or so, then 1 player followed me, then a couple more. The enemy was never expecting us to be that bold. So we went unnoticed for a week or two. But the second pressure was on and we started getting colonized by the enemy what did many of my former team mates do? They joined the enemy or fled, lol.
That is what I do. I invade enemy territory, establish a camp and begin to build. Sure, the natives hate me and attack me. But I keep building. And you know what in Age 2? Nobody can take my cities and I can keep building. And having a Suzerain does not slow me down once I ramp up. I can build more troops than most players who are not colonized. I build more troops than most top rated players. My only problem is, I am still learning how to use them. Once I level up my heros and learn a bit more about troops and attacks, I will be a very very strong player and can take on just about any player. The only reason players are stronger than me now is because of their heros, not their troops. So just give me some time to get my heros up. I have not paid into the game yet, so I am nowhere near lv 11 research in the workshop. But I will be paying soon to do that.
I am telling you man, being colonized is no big deal. You can still cap historicals and be a top rated player if you are colonized.
quite funny i find this thread with the whole i love to be colonized its the best thing since sliced bread. might as well call it slavery. when ur the suzerin not only do u got the passve res and ability to draft on the spot but instant knowledge of troops inside. eventually even if you do move armies around if all urcites are colonized then u cant place them anywhere and have them be safe. and to hide them in vallies well exp players do vally sweeps to locate hidden forces. simply put this whole i love being colonized its the best way to play is frankly
Nobody said anything about putting troops in valleys. You should carefully read the original post. You GARRISON your troops in other players cities. you do not move them around between your own. But hey, if you guys don't want to play that style it's cool. More fun for me. But I seriously think that about 1 year from now players will be playing Age 2 from "ghost cities" and using variations of my strategy.
The use of ghost cities, taking your explanation in hand, is not good gameplay and VERY close to breaking the rules. Getting players from other servers to log on to create lots of dead cities that you as host recruit and store your armies is VERY poor form. While not EXACTLY breaking the rules, its as close to it as its possible to get as it mirrors multi-accounting exactly but uses other players to do the task for you.
I would prefer to have an alliance of actual players than dead cities. ROME has at least 10 Ghost players around you, thats 10 players that are useless, cannot use FB (as they never play the server) to visit your city, never grow or develop, never train armies, etc.
You have a handful of active players, some steal valleys or constantly uprise with gates close or just annoy for the sake of annoying other players.
Does anyone think (not Rome players) that this is a healthy alliance.
