All I'm saying is that if people actually tried to stop OT from dying, instead of complaining, then it might actually happen.

[joke] It could be true. I did set the bar pretty high, which might have been intimidating to new posters and scared them off. [/joke]
Personally, I see it's pretty quiet here now, yes. Maybe it's just the way these things go as the thing that brought us here in the first place is not so shiny and new any more (the game Evony).
The release of the game and it's massive early popularity was a phenomenon in itself and in the early days there was much to discuss and much to be learned. I came to OT only after an extensive period of reading and posting in GD, Guides and H&Q. The Queen of Evony competition, for all it's flaws, helped to create a buzz in the community and that was probably the most active period in all sections of the forums. I think that you would find that all sections are now less active than they once were.
Many players have moved on to new or different games and although some of those who no longer play still visit these forums from time to time, they seem to drift away after a while. If you want OT to be better then perhaps you need to start making good threads. Good discussion threads tend to fade out pretty quickly as once people have posted their veiwpoint, there is not much reason to keep posting. On the other hand, some of the games and other popular threads just keep going because they require very little input (one or two words) and people can keep posting in them over an extended period. This doesn't mean that discussion threads are a waste of time, it just means that they need to be seen as short-term and kept being made.
Constantly looking back to some 'golden age' is not productive. Personally I have seen quite a bit of development within these forums from some members in relation to creative writing and graphics for example.
I guess what it boils down to is, basically if you want OT to live, then get involved and contribute regularly. Be open to newbies and try to guide them forward and mostly, try to make it a fun place to be. I feel my time here is also being reduced as I have other things happening now to occupy my time. I am a visitor more than a regular these days. The torch has been passed to the next generation. OT is yours to do with as you wish.
I think a lot of you have reached the point where you just don't have anything interesting left to say to each other. You've been hanging out together for over a year now and have covered pretty much all the bases that can be covered.
It's like a relationship with a girl/boyfriend that has run it's course and you've gotten to know them as much as you possibly can and all you do now is sit around watch TV, talk about what happened to you at work and have sex.
Except sex = trolling here.
Everyone was new at some time and that doesn't last long.
If we don't respond or comment on every post, it doesn't mean it has been ignored, just that we have no comment to make on it at this time. I tend to read all posts in a thread if it interests me but replying to every post I read would be spamming.
Maybe instead of making threads complaining about how OT is dead, Why not try to do something to change it?
Just a thought.
Find an interesting way to introduce yourself. When I first joined the first thing I did was post a Riddles thread and thats how I got to know the members of the community at the time. Plus the fact that I had them all stumped for a week on the first question before I told the answer really helped too.
