Apparently the trick to getting things screwed up in this game is to find about 10 people to complain about it, while hundreds of others disagree with them. For some reason the devs think siding with the 10 or so people a much better idea.

No actually, I Had someone beat 86k of my cavalry this way, and I adopted the tactic, because they did it with almost no losses. Which is another problem with your logic. Massive cavalry armies take very heavy losses every battle, even when they outnumber the enemy. Massive archer armies take less losses, and almost none when they outnumber the enemy.
Food you use to replace your losses isn't being used to upkeep your troops, which means you have even fewer troops.
Perhaps 20k archers and 10k warrior in every city, but I have ten cities. That means I will be hitting your army with 100k troops, not twenty. I can afford 100k, because I do not use horse.
And if you try to hide behind 10k Ats and a calvary swarm, a someone only needs to send 100k warrior waves.
Remember, for every 1 cav you have, they can have 6 warriors. If you have 50k horse, they can have 300k warriors. The third wave of 100k warriors will kill what is left of your horse, and they can replace their losses 25 times faster then you can. That is also assuming they are so dumb they do not just send 50k archers, 50k warriors, and one of every other unit.
And that is when you are on defense. Try and take your cav swarm on offense, and you will be laughed at.
Cav swarm can be an all right defense against noobs in a pinch. It is a crappy offense all of the time, and worthless against experienced players.
Cav just all around sucks. They always die first and in massive numbers. Thats why no one uses them. If they were viable everyone would use them to attack, because waiting for warriors to walk places is a pain in the butt.
I am sorry, but you just do not know what you are talking about at all. I have tried dozens of army combos against actual players not valleys. Cav flat out takes way to long to produce, and dies way way way too easy to be viable. Cav just begs to die. When I tried to use them I was constantly training new cav to try to keep up with the losses. When I switched to archers I started building up a 500k archer army because I stopped taking heavy losses period.
Cav sucks. Heavy cav use is a newb error.
You all can keep thinking that all you want. I'll keep using what has been proven right multiple times in the forums, what the actual combat mechanics proves, and that which I have used effectivly in my own battles. Calvery pownes archers at equal tech levels when DEFENDING. Even pikes can't keep calvery off the archers. And like I already stated; no single unit is the best. Each one is effective at what they are ment to be effective for and ineffecive at everything else.
Now, enough about this. There are a dozen threads that discuss this elsewhere. This thread is about the results of nerfing NPC farming. Let's stay on topic.
Agreed stay on topic folks
But valin i just can't resist. Archers Rule!!! LOL :D
Cause I have a new theory to counter the Valin Theory. You see, there is more to it than the ideal superb army. I am now of the opinion that army's are pointless, you spend hours thinking about their composition, how to fit the best combination in 100k troops, and then, poof, come up against someone 3 hours away with 500k reinforcements.
No my friend, the secret is in production speed. Simplicity, training speed, and not letting up. 100k attacks every day at my rate, every 12 hours at those of better (hah) players. :)
Ergo, archers. The perfect army, while attacking, is just not worth it.
Of course my resource model for that plan just got nerfed. (See, I'm on topic, tangentially)
The mistake was way before this happened.
My S3 main has a 600k army and nothing to do with them. Nor will I start farming lower level players.
Some of you people are real bitter and every chance you get you lashback at the company. Isn't this the whole point of this thread? The noob players are collateral damage. It's to get back at the company by causing them to lose their playerbase, or an effort to send some sort of message across.
This is what happens when game mechanics are abused. Just take the medicine, and play the game.
Well, you and I proved that 36k warriors can only kill 48 AT's out of 8k, so really it's a matter of your 17 barracks vs my 17 barracks pluss AT's. The deciding factor then would be, like you said, resources. NPC's weren't completly nerfed. Lv 1's are recovering 50% every half hour.
See, I'm still on topic too. :)
Exactly farming NPC cities keeps me from farming everyone else's cities for reources now its back to farming people. And npc cities.
But I think the real thing here is that this game wasn't ment for HUGE massive armies it was ment for well small around 50k armies think of all the things people took advantage from to get 500mil food and stuff.
No loss farming NPC cities made it ez to build big cities.
The reason Behind owning 10 cities is to be able to make big armies and still support them in 1 base. Not make 1 real city and 9 Barracks cites yea things got screw up along the way like you can only get Justice medals from level 10 npc cities lol...
But hopefully crap gets worked out
