I am not sure the Devs would see it your way. The Devs want you to pay so they can make a profit. I might chose to do so because I want a fun, interesting and challenging game (and those require money).

why does it have to be with no losses? you can legitimatly farm NPC towns without sending ballista.
The problem is the developers didnt fix the problem, they worked around it.
Dev 1: people are complaining that you can farm NPC's with no losses
Dev 2: well lets fix it so you can't do that
Dev 1: Na, thats too hard, lets just nerf the resources in the towms
Dev 2: Works for me!
Perhaps you are right, even if vast majority of those farming npc towns chose to use ballistas. It doesnt change the fact, that npc resource rate was way too high and created a huge inbalance in the game by allowing players to build armies they could not support otherwise. It was only a matter of time before the change was made, and a prudent player would not build an army they would not be bale to support by other means. All the devs did, was fixed what was broken.
The new system of npc regeneration is more realistic than anything else. Those with large armies loved free food all the time and building massive armies, but that's not realistic. There won't be giant castles of food in teh real world. No. I dislike the troop regeneration though and that should also be fixed
Building mass barracks and producing mass units in a short time is not a bug. Anyone can do it if they have enough resources and time.
But producing that mass units and sustaining it without having to worry about food upkeep is a "bug" in itself. No one would commit to too many troops if they can't afford it but if the resources is almost limitless what is the fun and skill in keeping such an awesome army?
I'm going to take a different route than most players.
What needs to be done: This Nerf is not enough. Need to increase Traps/Logs to hit Ballista. NPCs to LVL 1.
I for one think this nerf is not good enough. People are just creating tons of npc towns to farm from. This only clutters the map and produces lag.
And Ballistas are still no risk no loss, at all, attacks. This makes is STILL just as easy to take over NPC towns. This absolutely needs to be fixed.
For the first, change the game so abandoning a town causes it to change to a LVL 1 (with only a town hall in its center). Why should a town fill up with legions of barbarians in 1 second? Nonsense and being abused. Also change all current NPCs to MUCH lower levels.
95% of LVL 10s to lvl 1. Immediately.
85% of all other NPCs to half their levels.
And clear out the clusters of NPCs players are making to farm.
Ballistas need to take some losses!! Change Traps and Rolling Logs to be able to damage Ballistas. Make Archer Towers able to hit them too. But at 1/4th the damage.
DEVS: Don't be phased by the anti-nerf complainers. Don't be shocked into slowing down. The exploits are still being abused. The changes you made were okay, what the game needed, but not far enough.
I think it will help the game grow. Stupid exploits like this farming just makes every other part of the game useless and ineffective. This leads to abuse and stagnation of the game, leading to loss of sales and users.Quote:

Why would any one buy an item from the game store if everything is so easy to get? Competition is what this game is about. Abusing NPCs sidesteps DEALING with other players.
Look at the Quest text for Wall Fortifications. It says even a lowly trap can take out a Catapult. Now, if the percentage damage to a Catapult/Ballista is lower, that's fine. It just needs to do SOME damage. Other wise people will just build their ONE TIME ONLY set of Ballista and just add to it.Quote:

From the quest description for Traps. "they can even destroy mighty catapults" or something close to that, which means they should also hit ballista.
Obviously this is broken, and this is what needed to be fixed. Not nerfing the resource rate
