opens the door, motions outside :D

I don't care if they un-nerf the NPCs. I haven't been majorly affected because I haven't built one gazillion troops. What I WOULD appreciate is MORE FEEDBACK FROM THE DEVS! Their silence is downright annoying and disrespectful.
Oh, and next time they claim they've fixed something in the game, they'd best make sure they have ACTUALLY fixed it. I've been attacked twice ever since they published their latest "patch note". I only noticed the attack when I happened to mouse over the city that was being attacked. No flashing red Report icon, no notification whatsoever.
Bummer, I really liked the change. Oh well.
no one needs an army that big.
if you cant feed them with your own farm plus tech, hero etc too bad.
thats what needs a cap. the size of the armies. if you cant feed them you cant build them.
or add bracketing to the game so you big guys cant attack us little people
funny thing i just did the balista/tranport on a lv 2 npc and got my res than the last guy who plundered me.
and no it was not the full load.

Do you have any idea how slow the game is with a small army?
I don't know about you, but it;s not a preference of many people to send their 4k archers to attack someone else's 5k archers.
It is, however, more productive to send your 6k archers to collect from a lvl 6 NPC, and sending your 900k archers to attack someone else's army.
Gazza,
The problem is not so much with the army sizes/food consumption as it is with the underlying mechanics for combat, especially related to conquers.
In essence, a player can defend a city with over 1 mil troops, regardless of the current state of NPC farming. However, attacks are extremely limited - even 10 attacks of 90k archers each will do nearly 0 damage to someone defending with 500k archers and 20k cav/cataphracts. I get these numbers because a person could, in theory, be defended by up to 100k*10 members = 1 mil troops... as long as they each send some food, and the troops only need remain in the city for a short time before being returned to their owners.
The nerf hurts the attackers most, but has little impact on defense.
The need to evaluate the whole game based on attacker/defender mechanics. I find that the defender has so many advantages, that even without the nerf, an attacker will find it nearly impossible to break through a smart defender.
I scouted around a bit and finally found a Player City near me which had a decent amount of food. ALMOST sent my Army to attack. Then looked at the food sonsumption to get there.... I would have eaten more than I Plundered.
I am Catapult heavy, so I started looking just at those within a few miles. Just to get to a city one away from me takes almost 2 Million food.
There is something which, clearly, needs to be part of any fix. Already mentioned here several times. Reduce the food consumption dramatically. Like by an order of magnitude. Right now my Farms (over half teh resource spaces and all L9) can produce less than 10% of my hourly food cost. Crazy.
