Conrad i appreciate your agreement, and am impressed with your additions. I love this period of history, from the Dark Ages to Pre-Renaissance.
I have read Plutarch and Marcellinus also for further insight on the french monarchies i was wandering if you've read Jean Froissart, Paul the Deacon for the History of the Lombards, Saxo Grammaticus - History of the Danes (really good stuff) and for a timely view on the Roman's mind set Saint Augustine's City of God. Also if you like a bit of en period relaxation,( i dont know how much verifiable history could be obtained yet fun to read ) The Song of Roland and The Lay of Cid.
I am 48 years old, I say that only to say this, it is very rare that a young person as yourself takes upon himself the studious yoke of history, just for interest and well fun. To me who is now at the age where i am history, not yet ancient but i can see ancient from here, i find refreshing.
