Am I the only one that have been thinking about this? Like when you see a Vampire Movie, and everyone thinks that Vampires are monsters that should be destroyed, just because they eat humans? Aren't we also hunting animals to eat so that we can survive? Who said that only Humans are allowed to survive?
((I didn't wanted to post this in Off-Topic, as you can guess what would happen there. Please share with your thoughts about who the biggest monster is))
As the smartest beings on Earth (Hopefully...), I believe Humans have the right to devour other weaker, lesser beings, but Vampires, Werewolves, and other used-to-be-human beings should not, due to Canabalism.
To eat another person that is equal to you, I believe, is wrong. You could understand a Snake eating a rat, but a snake eating a snake? No. Lion eating a pig? Yes. Lion eating a Lion? No. It's nature. Humans have a natural instinct of thinking of Canabalism as morally wrong. When we smell rotting human bodies, we don't go to the source like Vultures. We feel disgusted.
That is most likely why Vampires and the sort are thought of as what you say "Monsters".
There is no creature or animal as foul, cruel, excessive, rapacious and vulgar as the human animal.
Humans are not necessarily evil but are naturally vulgar and naturally ignorant and from such natural ignorance and natural savagery arises all the putrid and foul desires of the human species.

Long ago in OT we had a discussion about intelligence in nature. We believe we are the most intelligent animals on the planet because of how WE as humans view intelligence. Plants are actually intelligent and so is all animal life, we have a narrow view of what constitutes "intelligent, or intelligence" and because of that we perceive ourselves as being the most intelligent beings on the planet. To me this is not intelligent at all.
I also believe the natural savagery in humans comes from evolving in a world where you had to be savage to survive as a species. Such as alligators and crocodiles are survivors from those ages, would you consider them any less savage or dangerous than humans? The only think that makes us more dangerous now is our development of technology and the tools we now use. But take everyone back to using sharpened sticks and you would see the savagery as equal between large predators and humans.
There are two overriding instincts in all creatures: Survival and reproduction.
Human beings hunt and kill and eat other creatures because we are naturally created omnivores. Our bodies were designed to need meat. I feel no shame or moral problems with this bowing to nature. I do not think humans need to apologize for killing other animals in order to survive.
As for why we find it abhorrent that other creatures should eat us? Simple. Survival instinct. I am sure fish are justified in thinking fishermen are monsters...if in fact they do. Any animal hunted by another would be justified in fearing their predator, and in killing it in self-defense.
So without commenting on the monstrous tendencies of humans, I think it all quite normal for us to have this seemingly double standard at play. It is, after all, just nature.
This is a very well put point. I would also like to add something to this. Vampires/Werewolves/others are all dark creatures that are damned to eternal suffering (unlike us humans who have souls) therefore us being able to kill for food to stay alive is a necessity. For them, they shouldn't be here on earth so it is just a waste and fun for them.Quote:
