Exactly, You want a topic to debate where people have differing opinions. There it is.

Too hypothetical and too rooted in science, its almost impossible to construct an argument for or against anything without pulling out the numbers which alienates everybody who isn't a science nerd, and ends up with the science nerds calling each other stupid as they point out mathematical errors and logical fallacies that nobody but they understand.Quote:
-what do you think will happen to the universe(ie the big crunch theory)
Will last maybe five pages, it will come to a third of the people going maybe, a third going probably and a third going probably not. But the only argument any will be able to bring up is "Given infinite chances, no matter how unlikely it will happen." or "Well it happened to us, why not?" or, "Its seems so unlikely though..."Quote:
-do you beleive that there is life beyond earth?
However there is a good chance it will derail into a topic about hypothetical non-carbon or water based aliens.
Will be closed due to religion.Quote:
-do you beleive that the universe is part of something greater, or is it infinate?
Either an evolutionary ancestor of the chicken or for the religious the Chicken, since the egg can't hatch without the chicken to warm it.Quote:
-what came first, the chicken or the egg?
Hot and forbidden by the rules.Quote:

ok well i still ahev lots of ideas...
-whether things happen randomly or for a reason
-what is my purpose as a human being
-how will the universe end, if it does
-do you beleive in doomsday and why, why not
-do you beleive world peace will ever happen?
-is there an afterlife?
i know some of these may be controversial religiously or politically, but im just brainstorming
Is there any truth to superstitions?
personally i think that superstions were just made because of :
a)some sort of flukey scenario (such as someone saw a black cat right before they crash a car)
b)or because people at that point didn't understand how and why things hapened, so they attributed it to certain animals, gods, etc.

Or religion will get involved.
Will be trolled to closure.Quote:

Religion.Quote:
-is there an afterlife?
Too broad, some do, some don't, its a case by case basis and the thread will derail because of it.Quote:
Is there any truth to superstitions?
Yea, someone should make the thread on world peace, i dont know how to start it so some else give it a try.
i actually am enjoying this for some odd reason, so ill continue.
-what are the actually meanings behind holidays such as halloween, valentines day and st.patricks day. (excludes religious holidays, such as christmas, easter etc)
-whether you beleive it is better for a person to spend more time with other people or away from other people (although moderation is a possible answer, it can be elaborated.)
-whether or not the ocean will ever completely envelop the continents
-whether you think it is better to know nothing about someone elses problems or everything
