So what is a draft riot?
Actually, I think the current state of theory is spelled out fairly well. Keep in mind that there is a lag from theory to practice, and from practice back to completely spelled out knowledge. Honestly, I know to finish with a mech wave, but up until yesterday I was unclear how much I would actually kill. I had a huge mech wave whiff twice---we simply got too many other waves in place first. I've also seen one of my best alliance mates do odd things with his mech waves, despite having been clearly instructed ahead of time by me. Sometimes people don't get it, even when you tell them.
Honestly, we've still got a long ways to go if we're going to be thorough. Every time you change the number of troops you can send in a wave, you change the total amount that you can kill in that wave, and thus the best group of waves to send together for minimal losses.
Give it time, everyone always keeps a few secrets back, but they come out eventually.
thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Worked like a charm. I followed the lvl200 attack guide, the only change I made was to use a war ensign on the first couple of spearhead waves.
Time to start building up the defences :D
Thanks again!
Okay in your post it says you need 115 leadership for mechanics to work, I am hoping I can still use this method with 10 100 leadership 350 attack hero's.
I think I understand now the concept of not killing the cavs before your spearhead wave after reading through a bunch of stuff. originally I was planning 2X125k pike waves after the 3k warrior spams followed by the spearhead wave.
Was planning:
a lot of 3k warrior spam waves
1 100k warrior wave (350 attk hero)
2 120k archers 1k war/scout/sword/pike
1 120k ballista 1k war/scout/sword/pike
Followed by a couple layerd 100k archer waves then loyalty waves.
Any suggestiosn on reducing ballista losses?
*COUGH* <___<
I agree with deverm, the mech waves are already in the forum but not in the guide; would be a worthy addition if the guide indeed aims to contain "EVERYTHING" about h-cities.
@X~caliber "Sometimes people don't get it, even when you tell them - multiple times."
The sadest truth a host can face :duh:
Btw, beautiful and unique AND idiot-proof clarification about the slight but significant switch between hitting a swords/cavs/rams and a pikes/cavs/rams. +rep for that and should also be in the guide, been weeks now I am sick of the "ohhhhhh stick to swords/cavs/rams ONLY".
Phracts combos are also doable in - what? - 4-5 hits? Costier only slightly if done correctly and it may help people who race against the clock and face such a combo. :)
i scouted the lvl12 hc near me. it has pike/cav/catapults combo. will this guide for this combo?
no, wait til the pults are gone or take much heavier losses.
Every time i have scouted it i get the same reports pike/cav/catapults?
