I've talked with Logrus and Dawnseeker about this issue, and we've reached an agreement. I want you to understand that closing those threads was not because you can't have fun, but because the last thing OT needs is 40 new threads all dedicated to individuals campaigning for "mayor". Therefore, we offer you this instead.
You may announce your candidacy here, campaign here, discuss candidates here, etc. Keep it in one thread, and in return we will come back later and add a poll for you so you may vote for your mayor. The winner will be given the custom user title "Mayor of Off-Topic" for a week. I would be willing to allow this weekly.
Is this an acceptable compromise?
