I don't think I even looked at OT for the first few months. The game was new, there were some major updates and other issues that kept me busy in GD, H&Q and Guides. I also had an alliance to run so my forum time was minimal anyway. So I don't know much about the distant past of OT either. It was just a lot of spam threads to boost post counts back then, or at least that's how I remember it.
I avoided OT for a long time because I saw it as a clique forum and I hate cliques as a rule of thumb. The occasional ego or forum drama I witnessed as a lurker would always just reinforce my prejudice.
However, one day I finally overcame my cynical misanthropist ways and visited OT, found it to not really be that bad after all, and I've basically lingered around ever since.
All of the people who were here for the so called "golden age" seem to think they are above the rest of the lot because they happened to join befoe us while we were doing stuff in Real life...ya know, stuff that matters.
So everyone that wasn't there for it are forced to be reminded they were not, and is always that tension between the new and old posters.
That is part of the history of this place.

I knew this guy who, instead of actual laughter, he would just say 'Lol!' and then look around.
Usually one of my friends (who had an awesome name, by the way) would hit him for being an idiot.
(This is at school, by the way, so no charges of assault.)
Anyhoo, that was a major derailment.
The last time I remember someone bringing up a OT history, I was told someone had already 'called' it as something he was doing. *cough*Pi*cough* Other than that one thread, I haven't seen much since.
