The theories don't stand at all. It's merely people trying to link unrelated events in to a chain to form the 2012 conspiracy. I could say WW2 began because the Ottomans were unable to defeat the Holy Roman Empire at Vienna, France was unable to impose its influence in Germany during Napoleon's conquest for any prolonged period of time and that the Roman's inability to conquer Germania meant that due to these events that eventually Germany was formed in 1871 which led to World War 2. As we know, none of the events mentioned have any effect on it at all.

The history channel isn't very reliable either by the way, unless it's just covering well-known topics and the conventional opinion held about them. Anything to do with "intriguing new evidence pointing towards Hannibal being incompetent" or anything of the like is just a ploy to get more viewers.

The History Channel, like most, is run by people who want to make money. They know they can make money by airing this sort of stuff, so...

Well, just keep in mind that most of these theories were used to explain the inevitable end of the world that would occur in 1999, 2000, 2001 (11 years ago ;)), and other dates I'm probably unfamiliar with. No doubt once 12/21/12 comes and goes, the theories will be used to explain the next doomsday date, whenever that will be.

Eventually I guess they'll get it right. A broken clock has the correct time at least twice a day.

Although I do enjoy this topic and the historical aspects of it. You would have an easier time if you cited actual material and presented it slightly better than chalking everything up to aliens.

Too many people have connected the Mayan end of their calender with too many other things that have nothing to do with the year 2012, the documentaries on the History Channel are just aired by them not produced, written and directed by them. As Alusair says "A broken clock has the correct time at least twice a day.".

This doesn't change that day to day life still goes on and will continue to do so. Although I do love the people who stock up on guns and provisions for the end of the world lol

I spent my teen years studying Mezo american ancient cultures and religions, ancient egypt, ancient greece, Rome, Europe and quite a few other cultures, and to this day constantly am still studying them. That's over 20 yrs of study, the conclusions and connections that people are making about 2012 from multiple cultures is a stretch. For the most part they take much of it out of context and twist it to fit their own theories.

Here is how you want to research the material in question. Check specific facts, cross reference those facts with multiple interpretations. Then check each interpretation and the credibility of the interpreter. For instance, just because some guy has written 8 books does not make him more credible than an Oxford professor who has spent most of his life in archeology or more credible than a tribal leader who's job it is to hand down the history and beliefs of the tribe word for word as it was handed down to him.

Many of the theories about 2012 are from people who believe that UFO's are responsible for much of our advances. These people usually have no credibility and don't know how to translate the languages, hieroglyphs or pictoglyphs they are giving you their interpretation of.

what happened in roswell?

an Object, that was Flying and was Unidentified (UFO) crash landed in roswell in 68 , i think... dont remember exact date.. anyway, theres numerous accounts of this, people who used to work for the government who are over 70 atm have attested that yes, there was an alien space craft which landed... some say there were 3 small grey bodies and 2 others which were still alive..

the government ofcourse threatens people to not say anything so they dont speak until they are very old and dont care no more lol

so yes, government hides things.. now, if there was a meteor, or a planet, coming to hit us, the government would most certainly make those files classified or top secret (eyes only)... why? because the world would go insane

abracax, im not trying to say u havent done a good job in ure history, just saying that there might be a link between all of them... for some reason, a lot of civilizations had certain believes that were the same, i doubt this was coincidence

Moravia Server 3, like abra...these topics fascinate me. I spent my childhood engrossed in books covering topics from Yeti to Roswell to magic to witchcraft to Sumerian gods to Bermuda Triangle to the Illuminati/Bilderberg Group/Trilateral Commission.

You made a thread titled December 21, 2012, but you're covering the spread on all matters supernatural. To bring this back on topic again... No, I don't think anything is going to happen and we will gracefully move into 2013 just like we have with every other new year since stuff started happening on this giant rock called Earth.
