As of server reset this morning, looks like Evony have removed city names and coordinates from the external battle reports for all servers (regular servers, super servers, new age)
RIP city coords. It was nice knowing you.

That is so wrong on so many levels. What's the point of a pointless battle report? Anyone can list stats!
makes sense since you're supposed to be able to share the reports without posting your coords, one of these days they might actually even make it so that you don't get the new coords of a city that is teled away on the return report of your attacks/scouts.
To see on evony url 'from city of unknown origin to city of unknown origin' This just made evony url useless. Now I might have to search an hour to see where someone is that attacking someone in my alliance. By then, their city could be gone. Should have a good chance to face your attacker. Not a shot that you can find them on a big map where often people's flags are wrong.
Only the coords of the town where the troops are healed remains in the battle report. In that case they could keep all coords!
:(
So, removing "default.html?" from the URL no longer allows me to figure out where the enemy is... Guess I'll have to start using my contacts now.
If you are listening....
But as usual, won't hold my breath.
Ryons.
this is a bunch of ****..how the **** do you find a city now thats hit someone in you ally
Evony i believe this is a turn for the worst. But hey, we all know,at the end of the day we will all still be playing
this makes know sense at all !!! why would u remove the cords !!! i love this game and my ali but u guys are making it harder to want to play. there is an old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" so plz return the cords to the reports and just leave the game alone. it works great plz leave it that way. i would like to see a Evony Rep. post here as to if this a bug or if it was ment to be done. Ty for reading.
Darn! Darn! Darn!
Please bring back the XML data... please!
I'm so disappointed, this has me seriously looking at other games.
Question here for those who had been attack after the change.
Those who were attacked, did the report showed you who attacked you?
If the answer is no, then how will you know who to attack back, unless the target has a special report that will show the attacker(s).
The only other way to know who is attacking and from where is by looking at report/enemy which will show you the types of troops, arrival time, and other info such as from where with coord, but these info is only available while enemy is enroute and not after.
Now if the war report don't show coord, and you weren't on during their attacks, then i guess you wont be able to attack back.
Ofcourse this is my assumption base on what i read here.
You still get the coord in your report... it's only the XML file that doesn't have them... Evony never meant you to be able to see the coord in those reports... sites like evonyurl just exploited the fact that they did a really poor job of hiding them.
The point of the XML was to allow you to share great hits/defenses/etc with your friends, NOT to use it to find out who is attacking someone (otherwise evony would just have posted the coords in the alliance report!!)
Evony still needs to find a way to hide the building listing that doesn't show up in normal XML, but can be "unhidden" by enterprising players - wouldn't be surprised to see that go someday as well.
Excluding alliance reports from the debate at the moment:
the only way to store your personal reports as you see then in your own reports page is to take (several) screen captures. Sharing with friends is even more cumbersome.
evony provides the url at the bottom of this page, but the view that their own external tool provides does not contain what's in your personal reports page. If you play age II it's an even bigger mismatch.
Now with external reports you can't tell if you've attacked a valley, or a barbarian city, or your first level 10, or even atlantis.
Let me get this straight:
You could never see the coordinates on the reports to start with.
You had to exploit to make them appear.
You are angry that we dared to fix the exploit.
