When I was visible in the past (and didn't limit my PMs/VMs to friends+contacts only), 99% of the help people asked from me were things I couldn't do for them anyway, and I spent a large amount of time I could have used moderating the forums, telling them to go ask the Representatives instead.
Even when I was invisible, it didn't deter people's inquiries because as the moderator of most of the most trafficked game forums (at that time), most people PM'd me requests/demands to fix bugs or restore lost troops or cents on a constant basis anyway.
That's kind of the reason I used it in the past, actually. If someone has the intention to misbehave, naturally most are going to wait until no one's around to bust them to do it. With that said, I'd rather they do it when they think I'm not around when I actually am, than when I'm truly not there. The illusion of being gone was my hook, line, sinker trick of catching the ne'er-do-goods.Quote:
2. If somebody see's that no mod's that appear visible online, people that can't see invisible's will take the opportunity to make spam posts and break the rules. Ever notice when no mods are online, spam skyrockets? Coincidence? I think not.
With that said, I've stopped using invisible mode since the rank-permissions were adjusted.
