No, that is why I said colonize/attack.
Say a player has their gates open and 400k archers plus misc other layers and full walls. Well, I send 2 waves from a level 14 and wipe them easy. Then I recall my troops before suppression ends. I just wipped all the walls and troops of a regular player city with ease.
The colonize button does the same thing as an attack. It's just that once a wave successfully wipes them out, the city goes into suppression instead of loyalty dropping and dropping and eventually being able to cap it.
So lets say 'annihilating an enemies defenses and troops is easier with a historical'.
I still say a lvl 10 NPC city is much better to own then a HC, I have yet to hear one valid point from you otherwise.
And where is your list of pros and cons? Where is your valid point? Where is your argument? I just herd you say "owning a 10 is better". But no reason behind it. I provided pros and cons to support my reasons. You provided nothing, just a statement.
lol... i'll cut and paste it I guess, seeing you missed it. Sorry Mod's Silent Lucidity made me double post.
1. Higher rally point is only good for attacking other HC's, it not good for PvP, being able to port beside your enemy and attacking them is much better then marching your troops an hour plus across the map, and give them time to reinforce, so higher rally point means nothing.
2. people just port out of drafting influence once you start drafting from them....
3. Higher resource fields...... nobody that owns HC's fills it up with resource field, and cottages....why you ask? b/c that would be stupid to put it simply, filling your city up with cottages costs you production, I can only speak for myself, but I have 22-24 barracks in all my city, and I farm my resource, and the truth is even if I had them full with resource fields they wouldn't do anything, I almost always have over 50 mil plus of each resource in all my city's at all times, maybe it`s just me that does this, but I farm from every city with 4k ballistae, and ports. And who says you don't need to farm in age2... it's pretty much the only way to get ahead..... if you have a ton of resource fields in all your city's and count on those resources to fund your troop production then I don't expect you to understand.
4. Is there an echo in this topic? this is the same as your 2nd point, just worded differently..... i'll quote myself....."people just port out of drafting influence once you start drafting from them"
None of the above are really pro's, and I think i'v explained why, now as for the cons
1. You can't teleport your city to your enemy, making them almost useless for offensive operations
2. To capture a lvl 12 it cost about 5 times as much as a lvl 10 NPC
3. After you capture a HC you have to build everything, which costs you alot of mike scripts, and a huge amount of speed-up'd, b/c and you have to build it very fast(must be ready to defend yourself 24 hours after capture), if you don't use alot of speed-up's you risk having all your hard work stolen right out from under you. Academy alone takes like 70+ hours without speedup's, It's goes w/o saying you need to have at the very least your academy, workshop, and beacon tower to lvl 10 within 24 hours, and you'll probably want at least a few lvl's into the embassy.
4. You can't truce HC's
Sorry Mod's Silent Lucidity made me double post.
Do you own an HC? Because from this part of your post(and the part below this) I am leaning towards the answer to that question being "No". I own 2 level 12's. One of them is in my alliances home state, which would fall under the "safe" category. But my 2nd HC was taken right smack in the middle of enemy territory. Guess what happened within 30 minutes of me taking that HC?? Every enemy within my range ported away. Leaving me with only NPC's and inactives to draft from. This point is definitely not void. It's a known fact, and a detriment(con) of HC ownership.
See above...and did you really say go capture a level 14 that is close to an enemy level 16? Or capture a level 12 that is near an enemy 14? That makes absolutely NO sense at all....
This is absolutely relevant. We are only talking about HC's and one of the cons of HC's is that they are the ONLY city's that are attackable. All other cities on the server(owned by players) can only be colonized. They will never lose their cities. And resources already in a city are untouchable by the suzerain, they can only get 10% of resources PRODUCED not already in the city. But HC's can be attacked and taken from players, as well as resources plundered. It's definitely a con for HC's on servers 1-19.
See answer above about this point.
Wait, in your first list you said the drafting was a con....now you've changed it to a pro. That's a bit contradictory wouldn't you say?
If someone bothers to send troops from an HC at my city. I f I feel I cannot beat them. I just leave my gates closed. Rally point means NOTHING, unless you are willing to fight back. Combined with the no refuge. Your extra troops are no match for the 10 million archers with my level 10 bonuses.
The reason a 10 is better could mainly be it it now the 40 mich scripts for the resources. It is the fact that you have to build up the whole damn city. And only 24 hours to do so. Which means you either speed boost or babysit tge heck out of the city for three days building it up. For the benefit of???? Not much. More resources mean more cottages means less troops and barracks.
heres the real funny thing.... he thinks that two waves from a 14 can take out someone with 400k archers, and layers to protect those archers, he even claimed it would be easy..... he is ether clueless, or taking shots in the dark hoping nobody will notice that he has never attacked anyone with though type of defences, anyone that has half a clue how to defend themselves would have no problem turning those two waves into red mist, it's a very good changes the attacker wouldn't even get a report back from such an attack.
That statement alone speaks volumes about this person, it's very likely that Silent lucidity doesn't understand how to defend a city himself, probably more then anything b/c of lack of knowledge in the game mechanic, also b/c of this lack of knowledge it's also very likely he doesn't even own a lvl 12 HC, let alone a 14, but is just claiming to own one b/c he thinks that if he says he owns one it will somehow bring merit to his argument......... again the fact that he thinks two waves from a lvl 14 can take out a properly defended city with 400k archer is almost comical, but to say such a thing to try and make an argument with a forum community what knows what there talking is on the verge of stupidity.
I think we hqve proven he is JP. And I hope the forum gods look into it.
Use of an analogy bout jello an trees and kids. His use of 10 posts to argue the SAME point as the prevoius 9 posts. And his total lack og game mechanics. And then thinking 400k archers. Is a lot.
I am sitting on over 500k archers 800k warriors and 5000 ballista and 10k transports and support layers with out even sending a single crew out to farm. And I KNOW my army is small. Well atleast that chunk that does not need to be farmed for anyway. :) now add in some farming and market playing. Ang those numbers jump up a LOT.
