Parody a Melody

I have seen some great work that people have done to create parodies of popular and not so popular songs.

In this thread, you can post parodies that you have written, or that you have found and find extremely amusing.

PLEASE include the following:

The song (parody)
A link to the original lyrics
Author

DON'T rip other people's work and call it your own. That's so not cool. If you do take anothers work to post on here, please say that you did so, and include the author's name as well.

Off Topic Forums (Parody of Penny Lane)

In the off topic forums there is a member showing photographs
Of every user he had the pleasure to troll
And all the people come and go
And stop to post a hello

On the corner is Criplockin with a motorcar
The members laugh a t him from behind his back

And tho she feels as if she is in a play

So do I. I'm considering of looking for a version of Alejandro with out Gaga singing, then attempting to record this version. It would be extremely funny.

That thread *gestures over shoulder* is where I write songs for other people. Most of them are of my original work. Except for the two I posted here. Someone can request a song about a specific topic, or genre, and I will make up the lyrics.

In this one, anyone can post a parody that they have written or have found and they like it and want to share.

you can chose to go that way or you can just observe the posters, what is considred appropriate and what is considered too much. Dont let one jerk like me effect your actions completely. Not everyone is going to get 100% praise, even the most clever, funny, or amazing people. Just learn to take the criticism if it's en masse and reflect upon yourself with it. If it's a sole person then simply tell them you see their opinion and continue what you are doing.

Have multiple told you this particular thread is pointless?

I see only one, and he is saying that this is an advertisement towards your other thread in entertainment. Which it obviously isn't, there is no problem with a subtle advertisement to a thread you made if the thread has a topic away from the first thread.

To note though, I see no reference of the thread in entertainment in the OP of this thread. So Laz's claim is false and simply an attempt at slander.

Wrote that purely because I was listening to that song at the time, and I really like it. It's nothing personal. I just thought that it would be an interesting one to do a parody of.

Umm, seeing as I've been receiveing a lot of negative comments on my work letely, I have a hard time beleiving that, no offense. Or maybe you do think it's great, but if you do, it's in a vindictive sort of way, I'm thinking...

Thorn, look at who those negative comments are coming from. The same people who are posting in all these spammy IBTL threads and such.
So far yours has been relatively spam free which is more than those other more "prominent" posters can say for the ones they frequent.
Keep up what you're doing and ignore the naysayers. They just don't like you because you're not in their little "clique".
