With the new attack feature in age 2, can you now capture player cities ( as opposed to colonizing them ) ?
servers na20 and above.....attack, plunder, colonize, take citys
steal their res then take their city or colonize them

Attention all Age I players, please exit Age I in an orderly fashion. Walk slowly to the nearest exit and join an Age II server that is Na20 or higher. Thank you for your cooperation.
@ japanpimp I've seen your posts around the forums, when I saw you had replied to this thread I looked foward to some elaborated relevant infomation. No such luck.
Anyone who does wish to try and convert me from age 1 please feel free to leave infomation relevant to the thread topic, otherwise my feelings toward age 2 will remain the same : exceedingly underwhelmed.
gonna get complicated... adv tele you can attack right away in age II... is there a way to build the buffers (lvl 5's) again? or is it going to turn into "whoever's on the most hours wins"? Now granted, having to build npc's for 10 square miles may be a little much, but those will be brutal servers!
@Lordnewguy Yeah, I haven't played on the newer servers, and my guess is as the server gets older it will get brutal for many, CD is probably the logical setup unless you can afford to truce once a day, I'm on na4, and we're stuck on carebear mode atm, and there is almost no point in playing anymore, so as brutal as new age2 servers will get mid to endgame, it will be a hell of alot more fun then the carebear mode alot of people are playing in right now in the earlier age2 server...... I'v pretty much quit playing now, b/c there realy is no point in colonizing people, only time I could ever see colonizing someone as useful is if there was an attack button, and your enemy only had one city left.
Because I am not the one who said that they are bored on Na4 and dont like colonizing. That was Piraal. So a solution would be for Piraal to attack various state capitals owned by enemies and Atlantis since he is bored and does not like "carebear" style game play.
If I was bored like Piraal then I would start attacking Atlantis and enemy capitals. Plenty to do if players look for challenges.
I think I made it pretty clear in the post you quoted that I lost all intrest in the game, as I said there is little PvP to be had on the carebear servers, and I can't see myself investing more money/time on the newer server, that would be dumb.
BTW I have capped HC's from other alliances that we're at war with....... not sure why I always have to repeat myself with you, but you always make me for some reason....... war's never end, and will never end without an attack button, my alliances is at war maybe 60 alliances? some are 90% colonized, and my alliance mates are all stuck in a conquers positions, that most don't want b/c it's just not worth it to own colony's...... the funny thing is.... I'v said this all to you before, and I know you know this so i'm not sure why i'm even replying to you b/c you are just trolling the forums as always.
Is it really to much to ask evony to give us a way to win/lose war's? this is what I mean when I say the server is stuck in carebear mode, nobody wins, or loses war's, it's pointless, and this is infact the reason why I have lost all interest in the game, there really in no point in playing a PvP game that you can't win, or lose, and is always ina stalemate.
I'v been playing age1, Travian, Ikariam, and Imperia for years, and they all have a way to win war's, rather then the stalemate age2 war(pre-na20) always end up in. I rather like the way war's end in Ikaraim in that the loser must agree and sign terms of peace. But as of right now i'm starting to think that they(evony) are not going to add attack on the older servers now, and all I can say is they are losing customers in not doing so, I know I'll never spend another dime on this(na4) carebear server, and I won't waste my money/time on another server just b/c they refuse to update there older servers. What I will do is continue to spend money/time on their competitors, and I'v got alot of my alliance mates to join me.

People need to stop getting off on taking player built cities (non-historicals) and start getting off on battles, gloas and strategies. Capturing a non-historical city owned by a player in no way makes the game MORE interesting or engaging. The only thing it does is give a cheap thrill to mischevious players.
To be able to capture a player's city adds a different dimension to the game. With that, is another reason to battle. More reasons to battle make the game more complex and, for some people, that equates to the game being more interesting or fun.
I, personally, joined the regular Age II server because it allows me to sleep peacefully. :)
AgeII is similar to AgeII ( Na20 and Up ) In that you can still cap a Player city..... But AgeII Also has the benefit of Historical Cities.... whcih have a draft range meaning instead of porting in and wagging war on your enemies you can port in and cap a HC near them and draft their troops then Cap them as an added insult
It also incorporates hero gears and a star system.... Meaning instead of spending hours and hours and weeks and months leveling a hero to high Attack / Politics you can have one 700+ quickly..... But Generally you need a Historic hero to obtain Attack that high..... Otherwise your looking at 10 stars on level 10 gears about 400-500 Attack on Reg hero's. You can only level them to 100 Though
Also.... If you don't wanna cap someone and you really wanna own them you can choose to colonize their cities meaning they have become basically your slave. Sure they can try and free themselves but very few ways for week players to free themselves...... And lets face it..... Once you colonize their every city...... You can then daily try and take 1 hero out of their city OR draft their troops to your own city
You also get a Infinate Loyalty hero ( King / Queen ) With 85 on All stats at level 1. It can only be capped if it is in your HC and your HC gets capped
Troop upkeep is reduced to half the AgeI upkeep.... And added with Facebook troop upkeep redutcion which reduces it a further 50% it means the same troops in AgeI is costing you 75% less in upkeep.......
Although there is a lot to be said about NPC removal which severaly limits the Attacking part of the game generally it is Good. A few things still have to be tweaked but apart from that it is better than AgeI ( Provided you are on an attack server.... I am Stuck on a Colonize only server and it gets dead boring cause ya can't farm large amounts of food needed for long marches so ya limited in Attacks )
Oh.... And Also... Adv Ports have no cooldown. You can Attack the second ya land ;)
Wow.... Your talking about PvP... Taking another players cities and hero's? welcome aboard ;) ON Attack servers you actually have to know game mechanics so def not for the noobs ( New Players..... ) or faint hearted or those who like padded rooms :D
AgeI is old news now...now that the attack button came to AgeII, if AgeI players didnt invest time or money or both, they would play AgeII, but to each their own.
I see far more advantages to playing Age II, but i also see far more problems in contrast; however, it can be assumed that eventually designers and programmers will smoothe out the ripples in the current Age II gameplay. I can see how it would be hard to adjust from AI to AII, but I do believe it is in the best interest for competive gamers.
