am I blind...or can I see....
I realise, I failed... I did not post a quadratic equasion.
twenty x squared plus 4 x minus 9 = 0
So, here are the facts that help me:
1. One guard always lies.
2. I can only ask 1 question to one guard. Not one question to each guard.
So I think if a "if" statement that will expose the liar/truth teller and the door to safety.
The single question I choose to ask only one of the guards is:
"If the door you are guarding leads to safety what is 2+2?"
The guard who always lies will not say 4. The guard who always tells the truth will say 4.
"Why am I stuck in a clich?d situation. After answering, please point to the correct door I need to escape. "
I would know why I am stuck in the situation, so if and only if the answer is the one I know, then I would know if he was lying or telling the truth. The next thing I say is not a question, so it does not violate the rules.
I didn't say you were allowed to make a statement/give an order to one of the guards. I said you had permission to ask them one question. I know I didn't say one question and absolutely nothing else but that's the way it was supposed to be.
