I'm surprised they didn't shut this thread down....already deleated 3 threads in last 5 min. can't have people speaking freely when they disagree.
They seem to be able to ruin and screw it up in minutes though.
See, I'm having a hard time putting UMGE into a square hole here. Most companies have goals when they launch an on-line game; a good game, good service, protection for newbies, good learning tools, ect. ect. UMGE was close on several attempts when they first started, then they do this stuff? I swear it's like everyone gets fired every week and they hire a entire new set of people with a different vision of the games direction.
Thinking about it, I really don't think they WANT old established players on ANY of the servers at all. I think they want a high turnover of players who are new and thus will buy coins because they don't know better.
You think about it for a moment and answer this; what has every knee-jerk change, that has had no warning given to the players, effected?
Nicely said Advan. It certainly seems so. We've all dealt with many mysterious occurences in this game which costs us many hours to correct. Deleted mail and reports with no regard, horrendeous lag, and list could go on for a while. Now we need to kill of troops we invested so much time in building because they couldn't create balanced game to start with. I'm getting more dissapointed by day and I've spent cash (advanced teles) on this game.
I have seen too much effort wasted because what a Dev thinks his/her little fix will be the one to totally balance the game. I just would like to know: Who tested this patch? What was tested? Was attacking and defense tested against each other? Was any thought giving to the potential fall out of putting in the patch? Was anyone, ANYONE at all notified that this patch was going live and what could possibly happen to the players and their in game assets?
I know not one of these questions will be answered. That is okay because I am done with the game.
Goran, I PM'd you. Let me know what you want me to do or smash my troops on.

The argument always fails when it comes down to "they didn't tell us!"
Here's the scoop, Civonydog. Testing a patch for a browser game is as simple as testing the math. The math may be rather complex at times; however, it gets done.
What you really want is to take a shot at someone over your frustration in not being able to play your way way anymore. Please realize, the devs want their game played their way. Adapt your game-play to the new working asepcts which were not previously working as intended.
:)
Sorry if offtopic
What you just ridiculed is called complaining over poor customer communication leading to poor customer experience. Please elaborate how this is not a legitimate customer concern.
Again, poor try at ridiculing others. It was developers that developed the original mechanics of the game, was it not? It was exactly their design that players had to adapt to (which players did). Please elaborate how the pre-patch way of playing (however unjust or incorrect) can be blamed on a player that just tried to play effectively by the rules imposed on them by the developers.
Oh, and.. do you enjoy looking ridiculous with this condescending tone of yours?
Eir
Legitimate customer concerns (in the gaming industry) begin with playability. Evony is more than playable.
Your concern is over changes which you claim make the game unplayable. You suggest the game will never change by saying the devs intended the game to be a certain way. Your assumptions are wrong. When hardcore players, who have nothing else to do but play free games, get involved game-breaking issues arise. These are called exploits. The devs are well within their right change anything and everything they chose to change with or without notice. This is particularly true in the case of exploits which, ultimately, lead to the destruction of the player base.
Fewer assumptions; more facts.
I did not "ridicule" anyone. I pointed out the obvious. If you are offended by the obvious, then it most likely pertains to you. Psychology 101.
Your argument is incredibly weak. In one breath, you say players had to adapt in the first place. Now, you refuse to adapt when presented with new challenges.
Contradiction much?
Oh, I'm worse than condescending. I'm right.
Well, that is what the game takes as a MMPOG... there is a LOT of diplomacy involved, and they just didn't quite figure out what was going to happen with the alliances as they designed them. Now they are monkeying with a well thought out battle system to try to compensate for other deficiencies.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that probably the worst thing they did just before nerfing the balista was to "fix" the marketplace so that it allows plunder of orders in process.
That just kills the ability to build up on your own. Now the only way to get to high levels of research, etc. is to be in a clan with a few who already got there and don't mind dumping piles of gold on you just when you are ready to start your research.
I belieive even NPC farming can't get you enough gold for archer 10 without hitting many many "vulnerable" NPC's, in which case you have more than a bit of time where you are exposed to plunder.
