I turn polar bears white

Can you solve this riddle?

My first thought was sunlight, or heat.. until I got to "squeeze me, and I pop"
Then I though about air pressure, but that doesn't make me pop if I look at it. Then I though of just "pressure" with it's multiple definitions, it could do the other things. But no pressure turns polar bears white... sunlight does.

Since the light is only thing that makes the clear fur of polar bears appear to be white, then "light" is the only possible answer. It must somehow apply to the other statements, but I just can't figure out how it pops if you squeeze it. Could you explain that, please?

The only other thing I can think of is time.

But, that feels like a cop-out. Since ANYTHING can happen in time. It can be used to explain/justify all those statements and many many more.
