Heh, I found it very funny.

Okay...my turn!
My fellow denizens, plebeians and patricians alike, please cast your eyes upon the words which I have highlighted here.
First off, a dictator of any sort is a despot, strictly speaking. He may be a savior now, but as soon as he accomplishes his goal (if at all) he will then become the despot in place of another.
Secondly, I think that so far we have managed not to kill each other TOO much in the last few months even without a set leader other than those people wearing red under their names. I think that this is a decent track record.
Thirdly, I do not care for such provinces as those that are on the land...those are not my concern. Even if they were I am not impressed by your vain show of glory. It does not impress the upper classes, whom you must REALLY impress in order to seize control.
Fourthly, go ahead and release your soldiers. My capitol lies in a different region, and I care not for that rusty old village that you are assaulting. And who said that I was a part of either that Senate or had any concern over that force? I command my own and I am proud of them. If you challenge me your infinitely valuable legions will be blasted into atoms before the hour is up.
Fifth and lastly, name the gods that support your cause. If they did, I would be afraid to boldly challenge you as I do now. Show them to me!
Oh, and as a side note, look to the skies...
I did from the start when I voted for someone else. LOL
Really? Then I should be the one in power right now! Popularity is what the masses love. People in general look up to those who have the talent to set themselves above their peers and style themselves as heroes. If they see a common one then naturally it is easier to pick a leader.
I think that I have said enough in that arena.
Conrad, the word you are looking for is doubt. Anarchy is merely a state of affairs in which people have nobody--either from themselves or from without--to rise above them and be their new captain and leader. When Anarchy prevails all heroes are cast off and none are set in place to guide the people.
That is the ultimate downfall of that system: it is doomed by nature because eventually someone will come along with the clout to assert his own power over others.
*pulls out Google translator*
Something something something Dark Side...
Something something something complete...
What Conrad is trying to say is...
*brakes out into dance*
If you change your mind, I'm the first in line,
Honey I'm still free,
Take a chance on me,
If you need me, let me know, gonna be around,
If you've got no place to go, if you're feeling down,
If you're all alone when the pretty birds have flown,
Honey I'm still free,
Take a chance on me,
Gonna do my very best and it ain't no lie,
If you put me to the test, if you let me try,
Take a chance on me,
That's all I ask of you honey,
Take a chance on me...
(I know I know its done) Now were did I put my death star? Mk3 (No strange hole and completed!)
Ohhh ok then.... It is the INTERCEPTOR!
Now excuse my while I head to The Wastelands *http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UWRypqz5-o&feature=fvst plays*

Take your medication puhleeze!
Ta a fhios agam cad ata tu ag deanamh iarracht a ra (aontaim leat), ach duirt tu an micheart insint de "scriu".

Irrelevant lesson as to why Google Translate doesn't work:
The verb "to agree" is aontaigh. The present tense of the "I" part of the verb is aontaim. So, I agree with you is aontaim leat. Leat broadly means with you. (Le + tu.) However, Google takes most words on their own resulting in aontaim leat being translated as you agree. :(
/End pointless lesson.
Basically, Conrad likes to use a dead language and I think he would slowly kill the OT too... ;)
There are always the rebels...And the rebel, in this case, is one the "Paladin King" cannot or will not please. Conrad is obviously one of them as he is rebelling and staging a coup right now.
Me, well I'm technically one because I never voted on your campaign in the first place. Catch me if you can!
Did I say that I was in that post? I merely said that I was rich, not popular. Popularity wins in the end over money, however much of it is spent.
As for popularity, I admit that I don't have as much of that valuable stuff as Ghost or Conrad, or some of the others do. But at least I have left my mark, and I can walk away and be proud of that.
I agree with you there. Latin isn't the official language of the OT; English is. If Conrad seeks to confuse the people in general because of their relative lack of knowledge about such languages, then he isn't going to garner any support.
Run a campaign as an equal...it might get you a lot farther than riding in on your high horse and proclaiming yourself dictator over the masses...who for the most part are not flocking to your cause.
----------------------------------
And as for your Roman legions, again they are hopelessly obsolete and can be dealt with even by Digger's Interceptor...
At least I have one good thing going for me: I'm out of the reach of both, and can fire when I please...the fact of the matter is that I can't be bothered to do so right now...
I see. Well, where did you learn to say that? I was just making the point that English expressions don't really turn out well in Irish. Like when you say screw, it literally means a screw unless you know the English use of the word. Anyway, that really doesn't matter. What matters is that Conrad thinks he can come in here and show off his dead language in front of us to look cool and I don't like it. :D What kind of despot would attempt to communicate to his people in a tongue not of the vernacular?
A bad one. That's why we have our Paladin King! :)
This is very interesting, Richard. I never knew that English was a "dead" language.Quote:

Does it seem odd to anyone else that someone is asking for a "vote" to be allowed to null the results of an election, and impose himself as sovereign? Should one really ask permission to declare oneself autarch in a coup d'etat? If your going to aggressively seize power, then just seize it.
The only reason why he appeals to the masses before attempting a move is because he is nothing without support. He is merely a victim of grand dreams failed if he doesn't have the means to fulfill them.
The only reason he has appealed to the "masses" is that he needs support in order to rule. A ruler rules nothing without people to hold his or her authority over, and Conrad is well aware of this fact...I am pretty certain of that.
Otherwise he wouldn't be asking anything and simply march in with his obsolete army.
hmmm Digger say waa? Lots of really big posts with huge words in them? Are we still at war here?
well i didnt ask anybody i just came in and conquered all of you and no one noticed.
of course now that i have pointed it out no one will believe me, but in my own version of reality your all my people and i am your goddess of love, light, and laughter.
as such it is my duty to shower you with the love you deserve weather or not i receive your devoted affection for it.
such is the life of a goddesss.
You can't be reached? OK, if you're going to bring this into spacefleets....

Well Ghost, this does say something about you...
45.45% of the OTD would rather have Conrad lead over you and 54 54.55% would rather had you lead over Conrad. And even in the election, you didn't win a huge % of votes. This means you have to shape up to your role, in you want to be succesfull.
Me and my Stick (...Don't even think about it) are willing to fight for whichever side gives me less pay.
Suckers...
I actually see a lot less people voting in this one actually King Dylan. I also see the other potential candidates of the last election voting for me over Conrad. This can potentially say that the educated leaders of the last election prefer me over Conrad. Hell, even the anarchists prefer me over Conrad. Tell me, what does it say that other leaders vote for me instead of Conrad and that one mod and one former mod voted for me?
Anarchy! Rawr!

Hokey imperiums and ancient legionaires are no match for a good Gohts at your side kid.
I'd actually agree. It's not a good thing when the anarchists vote for ya, Ghos t.
I do love the title "Paladin King", but --
For the glory of the EMPIRE!!!
Who votes? We just like seeing things burn.

Sorry for the double post but things are happening.
Rome is now the latest flashpoint for riots as the people take to the streets.
