People like that are sooo missing the point of the game. And I wonder what fun it is to them. You bake them troops for a reason right, defensive or attacking. It's war, so win & lose. It is a big enough turn off when someone ports or truces, but people like that are really annoying.
I don't think Evo will & can change something about that tho. How do you keep players from moving out the ressies without influencing the normal transports? And how do you stop account sharing? You can't just attach accounts to Ip adresses or something, because that would mean you could login from your own cpu only. (or not even that, if you have a changing IP)
sound pointless to me
they have to come out and play sometime
Ultimately, it will be about account sharing. Any changes you propose would more adversly affect those who are playing without doing that than it would affect those who account share.
Lack of rule enforcement is the root cause. If you want to try to skirt the issue, feel free, but punishing the cheaters should be the goal rather than punishing honest players.
But it's really not. The same exact scenario can unfold with a player who has enough time on their hands manning an account by himself with a handful of truces. In the end it simply makes evony a battle of patience rather than anything that could be considered a skill.
Yes, but the basis for this thread is that your patience is running out, especially given the account sharing...
So, in short, what do you hope to gain from this thread? Insight as to if the same thing happens on other servers? It does... Beyond that, anything else?
Not trying to knock you, really I'm not, but I'm believing that you're someone like me, that plays using one account and nobody else has my password. So, ultimately, where's this going? My gut feeling is something along the lines of increasing comforting cooldowns or restrictions on moving resources out (similar to the strategems in Age II) which, as I said, will impact the honest player more than it would those who account-share...
Alright, I've edited down the post to be more clear. The problem is that there have, in the past, been plenty of probable solutions. Solutions that are no longer valid in my particular circumstance (within the game's current constructs).
I am not proposing any changes at the moment, and I am not looking to "gain" anything but insight.
I won 1000 cents from the wheel the other day. I rejoiced. I had been wanting that to happen for at least 3 months.
Evony is super-slow to recognize things that players can plainly see. I've grown real tired of alt accounts, password sharing, bots, the unfairly distributed NPC purges, etc, etc, etc... With the 1000 cents, I anticipate 2-5 days of holiday at a time, followed by 2-5 days of activity to make sure nothing has happened (server merge). 100 days total of holiday, so I can extend out for nearly double that, or over 6 months, for little to no effort.
I gave money in the past, now I'm taking a well-deserved break after 18 months.
Insight: Not farming is a wonderful thing. Not having to deal with stunts like unfairly distributed NPC purges is like relaxing on a canoe on a gentle stream.Quote:

The more people discover this, the less money Evony will make. They don't appear to be receptive to honest player feedback and / or feedback that isn't out to try to get over on them, but improve the game for everyone. That's partially due to the absurd requests that some people make, and partially due to the company's firmly-held belief that people don't just get fed up and walk away that there is an endless source of cash to be collected...
Oh well....
Ok, that's all well and good.. Evony sucks, I get it.
But what I meant was, I edited the original post to be more clear.
This was mostly to avoid things unrelated to combat.
I'm about to head to bed, but this just struck me as odd...
Your first post, that you've since edited, makes it abundantly clear that you are frustrated with sitters, don't like it when they close gates, and feel that doing so means they don't "lose" anything.
Correction: If they have no wall or no resources, they don't lose anything.
If you take out a wall because of a large hit, that takes multiple days to recover from.
The ability to toggle the gate is a core game mechanic. Honestly, if you want to take that ability away or provide an item to override it, that, again, is going to more negatively impact those of us playing honest and/or not coining.
It's my opinion that your main complaint still has a root cause of an account having someone on it near 24x7. You bemoan the ability to move things out, which are legitimate tactics per the game mechanics, but you don't want to be attacking an offline person? You want someone to be online, but not employ strategy to try to keep from losing their troops (and possible reinforcements) by closing the gate, which equates to a judgement call of strategy?
Sounds like you're wanting your proverbial cake and being able to eat it too. Maybe if you'd describe your situation better, here or in PM, maybe I'd be able to understand better...
Goodnight...
