Which is the better of the herbs, Basil or Oregano?

I know this is bordering on both religion and politics, but I will trust the members of this here forum to not bring religion or politics into the conversation, no matter how hard it is for them.
I like the way basil tastes as part of pesto in Italian cuisine...
Its all good when it comes to spices in food. I just can't believe its not butter.
I voted neither cause i never heard or them both.

i think they both have their place but basil is special... when you grow basil on mass around your outdoor entertaining area, you'll find they repel mosquitoes and flies in a totally natural way, works especially well when you let them go wild (flower and go to seed)

Basil leaves with slices of fresh mozzarella (proper mozzarella, mind!) and slices of tomato, drizzled with olive oil and a grinding of salt and pepper, FTW.
Seeing as I enjoy cooking many Italian pasta dishes I like to use basil more. I just don't care for oregano much.
