The 6 hour window rule would have to apply to all types of cities for it to be fair.

I also find it amusing that your idea of the real world is Evony.
Well, to be fair I am thinking of this from the Na1-19 game environment. Since only HC's can be captured from rivals on those servers account sharing is a huge problem because the HC's are so highly prized. As for the other gaming environments where every city can be captured, I can see how the 6 hour rule would be fair if only applied to all cities.
I herd that in Age I account sharing is a problem as well and that most players share their account info so friends can login when they are offline and watch their cities if they are under attack. This is wrong. And the 6 hour window should apply as well.
So in short, I guess if a city can be captured then it would have a 6 hour window.
Even in the context of the colonise only servers, a 6 hour window rule applying only to HCs is very unfair. I see the point your trying to make though, but to keep it fair, the 6 hour window, if it were even considered, would have to apply to all cities. The reg cities should not have 6 hours more to attack the HCs.
Lol I dont know how you do the blue text, but very cool how you do it.
It seems that japanpimp is doing his humming thing again where he ignores valid points.
@Blah99200 to make colored font, you put brackets around ur text like these: "] ]
Hm, I have not thought about that.
But HC's are unique thus unique rules need to apply to them.
But if the 6 hour window condition was put on all cities on Na1-19 I don't think it would make sense. Why? Because on colonize only servers only the HC's are capturable. If a normal city is attacked and the attacker wins the battle the normal city is put into supression for 8 hours. That 8 hour supression is similar to a "sleep window". The city owner who is in supression can be offline for 7.9 hours and come back at the final minutes of supression, open gates and do the battle. So with normal cities, once they are in supression you can relax and do what you want for 8 hours. If part of that 8 hours included your "6 hour sleep window" (which would most likely be the case) then there would be no point making it apply to all cities. Why? Because if a player is online chances are they will fight off any attacks. But if they are offline (sleeping, work, school) chances are they will get put into an 8 hour supression. Now, chances are also that they will set their 6 hour sleep window to sycronize with their job or sleep or school... which is the time they will be offline anyway. Which is also the time most likely they will get put into the 8 hour supression.
I guess the point is, if the 6 hour sleep window was a condition that applied to all cities regardless of server environment, on colonize only servers it would make little difference since players with normal cities deal with 8 hour supression windows.
When you post there are menus like Microsoft Word. You can edit the text.
Cool, thanks alot :)
Ah true, Id forgotten about suppression, but the point with the 6 hours for reg cities is that during that time they cannot have the opportunity to attack an HC during that time. This would give both HC defenders and attacker an equal 18 hours to attack/defend however they wish.
Of course though, while I can see the point of adding a 6 hour window, I think there can be more effective ways to deter account sharing, one that doesnt change the dynamics of the game this much. Lol the finger print logging in was a pretty good idea in that direction, but something along the lines of maybe registering up to 3 computers with a particular log in? I.e. I can only use this particular computer for my evony account. There should be the option to change computers in the case where your main computer goes out of action for a while too.
Yes, I see your point now. If HC's have a 6 hour window of forced sleep time then normal cities should have a 6 hour window of when they cannot attack any HC's. So everyone has an equal 18 hours of attack/defend that they can schedule per day. Now that is a totally killer idea. It is a win win and totally fair.
Now, who says I am not reasonable?
Edit: Actually, I have been thinking more about this... it is actually a very progressive idea in the world of gaming. Many critics argue that addiction is a problem. By setting a 6 hour window that "forces" a player to sleep not only does it level the playing field but it helps fight addiction. It could be a very positive PR spin.
the formula for attacking/defending has worked fine up to now and i see no reason to change it. the OP wants citys to be easier to cap but at the same time he does not want to own a city that CAN be capped. the mechanics of the game are sound, stop trying to change things to suit your own needs!
You know, I've been thinking more about it (and spent 8+ hrs yesterday doing loyalty runs) and I have to say that I'm in favor of a cooldown on Speech Texts.
I don't think that this makes HC's "easier" to cap, but it forces players to defend.I don't mind losing to an army, but I do admit that it's a pain to work your way down to 1 loyalty 6 times in a day.
Other than that, killing armies is easy if one knows how.
