you cant penalize some one for optimizing on the game parameters, its evony's responsibility to not have them if there not suppose to be there..the issue is that you can no longer remove all your troops that you need to remove to a valley in order to defend against different att's.
Well hell woman we all know how to cap a ten and use 2 ports to get our war city next door lol. Only problem being if the state's not full you might use a few or be in lockdown for 24 hours with an adv port.
So you guys must spend too much money to care. That must be what you meant by evony dedicated.
I'm not debating the rights or wrongs of fixing glitches obviously when discovered they should be fixed. What i would like to propose is that the developers think about how they prioritise which glitch to fix 1st. You can see from the length of this thread that some people felt using this glitch enriched game play. On the other hand NO ONE benefits from the relief station/food use glitch that tells you the food required to move with the relief station but then deducts the amount you would use without the relief station. Addressing this glitch would go a long way to increasing customer confidence and would help improve the game. Also if players discover another glitch which enriches the game you could always call it an easter egg pretend we were supposed to find it, less grief all round ;-)
Sure....Let take something that most people have been doing for a long time....(Not like it was a secret) kill it, and watch the fallout. Then sometime down the road after we have finally admitted that we CAN'T stop the bots and macros, we'll look at it again and decide whether or not it was of any design value.
Whether or not you think it fits in with the original mechanics of the game, it has become part of the mechanics of the game due to the widespread use of it. Removing it has drastically altered the way in which the game is now played by the majority of players who actually play it as a war game and not a farming game.
All games evolve over time, and yes there are bugs that should be fixed ie: free hero transfer. But this is an aid to game play for players who are dedicated enough to farm resources, and build large armies, and being such a widely known method, should not constitute a glitch that needs to be fixed. I'm sure there are a number of things that have evolved over the last 2 years that you had not intended when you designed the game.
If someone figured out how to farm lvl 10 NPC's with 0 losses, would you fix that?
This offers nobody an unfair advantage. As others have mentioned, it did help level the playing field for those of us who do not use bots. There will be little, or no effect on the players that do. So the honest players are being penalized, while the dishonest remain status quo.
Now, attackers have an unfair advantage as it is not possible to properly defend by moving troops in and out of your city as needed if you have over 1 million troops in your city. How does that fit in with the spirit of game mechanics?
If you are going to leave this "fix" in place, you might consider changing the name of the game to Botany, because thats pretty much the way it will be.
The most sensible thing to do IMO, is to reverse the "fix" and let us all have a way to keep up to the botters until you can get rid of them.

I get its a bug, I get that it was to be fixed... but on a scale of 1-10 this seems to be a 1 or 2 for negative player impact. I DID affect how the game played, but no more than dozens of other issues.
What part of the uproar is about is this seems like a blatent attempt to force people to spend more money. Out of the dozens of issues that COULD have been fixed they chose to fix one that not many (if any people complain about) instead of ones that frustrate people to tears.
Why would you guys choose to focus on a bug that has such a minimal negative player impact?
yes like a dictator leader ignoring all their ppl voice. it will look bad if u roll back the misakte (not fix an evil mistake and attack on players)Quote:
I don't think that will be happening, we fixed a bug, it sets a bad precedent to undo a bugfix.
but dont forget something ppl will bring down all the dictators. ignore the majority and your game will be no more.
